: Weird clicking after I turn off the car?

I don't know about anybody else but today I discovered this weird click about 30 seconds after I turn off the car. It almost sounds like something is opening or closing it's really weird. I almost thought for a second that my DSI was somehow messed up or something just because it's so common for everyone else but who knows. All I know is that sometimes I just hate my car because like today it was just running slower than usual. Like it can never make up it's mind. Does anybody else's car seem like that where one day it's just a pissed off car and then someday it's just limp.

I have heard that noise before and I believe it may be the DSI going back to its "native" state. Havent noticed any issues from it though. Might just take a second for the motor to register and move the cable(?)

The DSI changes runner position when you start the car and also when you turn it off, its to help keep them from gunking up and sticking in one position.

Do you have your defroster turned on?

honestly in this case I just went out to move my car really quick out of someone's way and then I noticed after I shut it off. It doesn't do it all the time, when I told my mechanic at the dealer yesterday he told me I needed some drugs because he's never heard them do that. So then I kind of just said screw I'll just drive it until the damn thing blows up.
On top of that my car is stalling out again at red lights and what not. It is so stupid I really think I need a whole new pcm but Ford just won't listen. I don't know I just think that sometimes these are the most annoying cars ever.

The DSI startup/shutoff noise is pretty standard.
Heck, I've shut my car off, and been doing something in the garage,
and 2-3 minutes afterwards I'll hear a "pop" as the DSI switches back to the short runners. [screwy]

I noticed my svtf would seem to be performing like crap one day, and great the next. I don't know if it was all in my head, or if it was true. Interesting to see you bring this up. The car was tuned like shit from the factory, so it wouldn't suprise me to see it doing that.

Thanks a lot for the help guys I appreciate it. I was worried for a second but now the only thing I have to worry about is why it keeps wanting to stall when I'm stopping at a light with it in neutral.
