Wow dude, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. Whats worse is that there will prob be scratches and all kind of crap on your car after you get it back. But you might get lucky. ::crosses fingers::

I was under the assumption that being in a parking lot was private property?

There must be a way to fight that when it is hundreds of miles away..

I mean if it is a parking lot, the stores close by will have vids of who did the donuts..

The fact that you have a new clutch and spin your wheels a little because of that gives no cop the right to impound an OUT OF STATE car..

The out of state thing p-s me off the most.. because what are you suposed to do.. walk back to texas?

I hope you enjoy your stay in Cali. And welcome! Jk dude. That sucks. We have alot of prick cops out here that are trying to crack down on the ricers. Sucks when you are wrongly accused. Best of luck to you tho.

Front wheel drive cars doing donuts, right.... If I were you I'd demand they take rubber samples from both the tires on your car and the marks in the parking lot and then have them analyze them. When the makes of the rubber don't match, case gets tossed. Sucks that happened though, hopefully you'll get your baby back unscaved.

yep yep, could be worse though...i've only been living here a few months but i've heard of cars being impounded and crushed...but those were all extreme cases of street racing.

ca cops don't care they just pull you over because it's an easy ticket for them to write especially when they have a quota to make.

here watch this video to see how much of a prick these guys can be: from last year but it's pretty current..

So a street legal after market exhaust, that looks like it's illegal because its shiny gets you pulled over and given a ticket. Nice city, who would of thought you could be ricer profiled for tickets from the police.

Sorry about the impound though, that kind of sucks. hope it all works out for you.

That video makes it look pretty harsh here, but remember that's just one city. It's not like that everywhere you go in the state. I must say spotting "modded" cars and citing them (in the middle of the day, no less) seems like an odd way to try to limit street racing.

I detect sarcasm. [:)]

If you really want to catch street racers, wouldn't it make more sense to, oh, I dunno... patrol the streets at night in locations known for street racing? Sitting at the side of the road during rush hour commute watching the cars and picking out the RSX with an exhaust doesn't really seem like the most effective way of weeding out the people who are actually doing the racing.

I just saw the vid... god dam you america!! how are all the asian kids going to get to university? (racial generalization sorry, but you get the point.) they can't even prove you are racing. I noticed one loop hole. the police said they are going after cars that are illegally modified. what if you can prove you bought your parts from jegs which sells 50 state street legal?? hmmmm!!!

seeing that video just makes me think of why i hate california sooooo much. you don't hear stuff like that happening anywhere else but there.

Yep just show all the certificates for your parts and you should be good. However if the cert and part are listed as "off road use only" your pretty much screwed and have to pay fines and inspection costs to prove that everything is legit again.

that is stupid to issue a ticket over a modified exhaust.

wow.....just stupid

My brother was once ticketed for drag racing and exhibition of speed in a 1966 Volkswagon bus! The judge made it stick....

We get them here. Im suprised they havnt got me yet, my friends all have had to switch back to stock. I get so mad because they pick on us (econoboxes) here, but the trucks and bikes and all can run whatever they like, none of them get a ticket. Its not like we have a big racing problem either.
