: Coming Soon:
GregsWhiteFocus 02-16-2006, 05:22 PM I have decided that I am trading my Focus in this August. I am 95% sure that I am going to get a Mazda 3s. In black. and DEFINITELY MTX.
I test drove one the other day and absolutely loved it. I have already picked out rims for it...
Anybody know what the BEST Mazda 3 forum is?
**EDIT** WTF? The rims I picked did not show up....
mazda3forums.com
and welcome
BTW try to get S Plan or X Plan Pin you can save a bundle..
You can also wait a couple months after August.. there is a Facelift coming later in the Year - around the time the Mazdaspeed3 is coming... and you can either get the new look, or maybe a discount on the old look (there are not spyshots of the new look yet)..
Igor
Good luck
GregsWhiteFocus 02-16-2006, 05:26 PM Alright...Here are the rims I will get when I get the car.
I get the "A" plan through my dad.

Klondike 02-16-2006, 05:30 PM i love them mazda 3's nice rims as well
Two things//
Did you drive the "i" version with the stick... it has great power and delivers more MPG... the 06 has more power than before..
Second, what is the weight on the rims?
The stockers are about 22lb each, so if you pick something light, you can really help your performance..
BTW I have 35mpg as my personalt record on a broken in 2.3l with a stick
Igor
GregsWhiteFocus 02-16-2006, 05:34 PM Yes. I drove the "i" version....The "s" has more power and torque.
I will check on the weight of the rims...and get back on that.---**EDIT** 19.6 lbs. for 17"X7.5
GregsWhiteFocus 02-16-2006, 05:41 PM I like the current model....By the time I DO buy it the pictures of the facelift should be out, so I can make my decision to buy or wait then...
My biggest motivating factor was the 5spd.
avengerc4 02-16-2006, 05:52 PM I get the x plan through working at Radio Shack so if the mazda speed 3 is any good I am thinking of buying it :) That means I'd only have the new svt for a year, but well....if it's tight it's mine :) Do you think they'd give the x plan on that?
-Joe
PS: Sorry not trying to steal thread and nice choice. I like them as well but went with the svt cause it was only about 5 grand more than my zx3 so not a bad deal :)
GregsWhiteFocus 02-16-2006, 05:54 PM The X plan gives like a $500 discount...The only "Real" discount comes with the A plan, which I am not entirely sure I get on a Mazda...The salesman told me that A plan pricing takes roughly $1200 off a Mazda 3i.....not that much, but it helps....
GregsWhiteFocus 02-16-2006, 06:20 PM Is it sad that I am not going to be getting the car for another 7 months and I am ALREADY shopping for parts???

Thats what I was thinking but, you said it yourself.
HaveBlue83 02-17-2006, 11:41 AM dude, I was thinking of buying a JRSC for $1,000......and I didn't even HAVE a focus at that time.....THAT is bad.......
Focusnewb 02-17-2006, 11:51 AM Nice car !
As for part shopping early, I'm with ya (if not way beyond) I am narrowing down car choices by which has the most aftermarket support......and I'm not buying for 2+ years.
Greg.. let me give you mre things to look at..
1) antenna. .there are stubbies/shorty anteni as and there is functional sharkfin..
2) JDM Axela has some interesting options: Auto headlight, side mirrors with turn indicators etc.. on of the coolest thing you cannot get here is the integrated keyless fob wit hflip-key (a la mazda6)..
3) mazda3forums is sponsored by 2 dealers .. one in VA the other in NE .. both offer discounts.
4) The stock sheels are quite hot and the tires aren't THAT bad..
5) Do not forget to get a "Zoom-Zoom" sticker when yo uare picking up the car
good luck
Igor
GregsWhiteFocus 02-17-2006, 06:16 PM I looked at some of the vendors on mazda3forums.com and found some neat things....
I think I want to keep it simple and get only a few things (Rims/Tires, short throw, CAI, and exhaust ONLY...just enough to make it that little bit different from the other ones)....I stress out too much on the Focus about things I can never afford but want really bad. I don't want to go that route with this car...I want to have a clear idea in my head of what to do and work for it, instead of wanting a thousand things and not saving for anything because I can't make up my mind...
One of the first things I want to get for the Mazda is a shift knob...I hate not having any options for that on my ATX Focus...But really, I just basically want the Mazda for the experience. Much better car than the Focus IMO.
imFOCUStman 06-25-2007, 10:16 PM i traded my focus in for a mazda 3 hatch and i love it! still love the foci too although i dont have it anymore
