So, well my car is at the dealership getting the shift cables replaced, I am driving a loaner car. It's a 2001 SPI ATX. I have to say, it's like being the brunt of a bad joke. I have named the car Senior Gutless.

I just thought I would share.

I wouldn't know, I lost patience waiting for 80.

What about 20? Does it bog down and whine that you're going too fast?

:D

Now now you guys be nice to our SPI cousins!

Granted I'm sure it's slower than what you're used to, but it is part of the Focus past. It's like picking on your grandparents for not getting around as quickly as you can... not cool right? [nono] [:p]

BTW, how did you get an 01 loaner car?! That's just odd, I never see loaner fleets more than a year or so old.

This is more like a grandparent teasing a slower grandchild. (Mine is a '00)

As for the year, I have no idea.

Is the SPI a sedan or wagon? I'm not aware of the hatches ever being given less than the Zetec... but I could be mistaken.

The loaner is an SE. I've never seen a ZXn with an SPI engine.

I used to have a SPI ATX escort before I got my fofo, yes, it's slow as hell, but hey, it gets pretty good gas mileage[;)]

Well, anyway. I got my ride back today. Ohh... so much better. It shifts like a frickin' Acura now. (not really, but SO crisp).

As for the SPI... not my cup of tea.
