: anyone have every bolton available for the SVT?
01-30-2006, 09:43 AM
i'm just curious about how much tq/hp and an approximate quarter mile time with
coil pack and wires
and any other bolton i'm forgetting (besides catback)
is there anyone here with all possible boltons for the SVT and no internal work done that know what the numbers are for it? or could give an educated guess

If everything is done right, I would say with:
intake, highflow cat, tb, udp, cam gear: +20 whp peak
With those mods you will probably see a good increase power after the DSI kicks in
add the tune and your probably looking at +25 whp roughly but the low end torque is going to really help your bottom end.
Looking at a dyno though you probably won't notice much hp gain from the tune, its all about the bottom end torque. So on the track its probably the best bolt on, but on the dyno if you just want numbers its only going to help.
Im kind of rusty, the svt averages about 150 whp right? I just remember knowing that with all bolt ons you couldn't hit 200whp. Oh and the STS you mentioned isn't goign to show up on the dyno [thumbup].
Anyone with hard facts can add, remember I dont even own the car anymore :( lol.
01-30-2006, 09:56 AM
Ok yea a bit under 150 whp stock. And clearly I'm rusty, either that or I'm on too many other forums because I couldn't even remember how to do the thumbsup emote. And if you remember any of my posts, i used that emote in just about every one!

thanks for the response. i was thinking maybe in the 180s hopefully? also i mentioned STS cuz it would help with faster shifts for the quarter mile.
01-30-2006, 10:28 AM
Well if you want to talk track times then. With a good launch and all of the bolt ons, you should run around 3/4 to 1 second faster in the quarter mile. Most people run 15.5ish stock so high 14's. Those with factory freaks or really good track conditions can run 15 flat stock. And obviously tires are extremely important.

we dyno at 160 at the wheels with open exhaust, tb, cam gear etc....
01-30-2006, 10:42 AM
lol yeah i said hp-tq and quarter mile times. it's ok you must have missed it. yeah i was guessing mid 14s which isn't too bad at all i don't think. am i missing any boltons to the list??
I don't see cai /cat-back.
01-30-2006, 12:17 PM
i put down SRI=short ram intake, that's what i have on. also cat back i said in my first post "besides catback". that's one mod i'd prolly NOT do, just the rt cat.
one thing i'm looking forward to which is a lil more extensive is the camshafts coming for the SVT! can't wait to see the gains for that mod! i think it was estimated at 10hp to the wheels across the whole entire rpm range.
still in the works. I've been waiting too.

does a turbo or SC count as a "bolt on" ;)
01-30-2006, 01:01 PM
i was thinking that too! haha but i was wanting to know without FI. i already know what the numbers would be with FI. i wanna know what it'd be with all boltons, nothing major internally. i think i mentioned all of them. i'm not sure. i MIGHT go with those cams sometime when they're ready

how about valve springs, pnp head, thinner headgasket, a little mill on the head also, all for raised compression,
combined with a tune for everything else, i think that would help out. And i wouldnt consider a pnp head changing the internals.
Im curious aswell also, because i know i can pretty much patch together a custom turbo kit for around 3000-3500 dollars, including tuning, ect.
But if i could get around 200whp N/a i would.
01-30-2006, 02:20 PM
you can't get 200 with just boltons. i'm sure at the flywheel but not at the wheels. and euro, that's the kind of work i'm talking about not getting done. it's too extensive if you ask me. i'm just talking about boltons. thanks for the input though [thumb]
EDIT you CAN get well over 200 whp because tom did it. he said it wasn't near close to being street legal and it was really built. he talked about it in one of these threads, if you search you'll prolly find it. if that's what you want to do you can talk to tom
01-30-2006, 02:27 PM
oh ok, its too bad we cant get 200whp.
Btw building a motor for N/a and putting a turbo setup on the car, ill take my turbo setup and have 250whp outright. Sounds perfect to me.
With all the money your gonna spend on the bolt ons, just save up for a custom turbo setup, or even toms. Too much money if you ask me.
yeah i was just throwing some stuff out there, cause i know its pretty easy to take off the head on a car, and just send it away for a pnp.
Also i guess its just time, im sure someone will sooner or later devise a better header, new cams, a better intake manifold, and other goodies, just takes time.
good luck on the quest.

just add some decals. i would say for 200 hp, you would need like 5-6 decals. the really bright ones add the most hp. more of a "stick on", then "bolt on".
01-30-2006, 03:08 PM
yeah i have a few stickers and they DID seem to help. i don't want to put anymore on though. [joke]

I have everything (CAI-TB- RT CAT- BORLA-COIL & WIRES - HYNOTIC TUNE) but cam gear and came in @ 167 hp.
02-01-2006, 04:45 AM
how much would a cam gear change that number i wonder? also do you have a UDP? i know it wouldn't add much but it'd still add hp. one last thing, what was your tq numbers? is there any way you could post the dyno on here?
02-01-2006, 06:43 AM
My mods were Essliner UDP, CAI, FC 65mmTB, FC ORP, SCT Tune and a STS. I ran a 14.8 @96. That was with a 2.3 60 so I think I can definatly get it down espicially with the new clutch and flywheel.
02-01-2006, 08:51 AM
sweet dude! that's a good run!
02-01-2006, 09:31 AM
I'm working on getting all the so called bolt ons. I don't do 1/4 mile runs though, I just like to dick around on turns. I was originally an "all bolt on" guy but I am also gonna get the head ported, I just love N/A powa.
02-01-2006, 12:14 PM
i don't do quarter mile runs either! i've never ran any of my cars or bike at the track. i just like to know so i know how fast a certain car is. [thumb]
02-01-2006, 12:44 PM
you may also want to consider a LSD, that will def help with a good launch.
02-02-2006, 08:09 PM
With just a CAI, UDP, and Borla I ran a 15.2 @ 93.25. My traps seems to be higher than most. That was with a 2.297 60' on my bald Hankooks.
Now I have:
SCT Xcal II Tune
Clutchmasters Stage 4
MAC Rear Mount
I'm confident I can cut around a 14.5 with just those mods. We'll find out around March - I'll be headed to a 1/8th the 19th of this month though.
I also have a nitrous kit. I'm shooting for high 13s, but would be happy with anything sub 14.2.
02-02-2006, 10:16 PM
before my turbo , with catback orp and focus central tb i went a 15.3
02-19-2006, 05:43 AM
I believe I have every bolt on an more (Fidanza Flywheel, Quaife Diff and CMIII Clutch). I am searching for a reliable Dyno Shop to tune my Exhaust Cam Gear. Once I get that done I will post my Torque/HP Gains.
02-19-2006, 03:12 PM
do you have a cat or orp?
02-19-2006, 04:40 PM
Yes, still have the Factory Cat mated with a Borla 2.5" Cat Back exhaust.
02-19-2006, 05:48 PM
With AEM Shorty, Cam Gear, UDP, and FC ORP I saw 156.4hp and 133.3tq on a Mustang Dyno (adding in the ~8% loss due to the loaded dyno [12.51hp/10.66tq] I would get 168.91hp/143.96tq on a Dynojet). I didnt run at the track before the tune, and I havent been on a dyno since the tune, ignition and RT Cat.

lol so you HAVEN'T replaced the cat with a high flow or an off road pipe then. you'll get a significant amount of power with either one of those. [thumb] so get an orp or a HFC and then it looks like you'll have every bolton available.
02-20-2006, 02:45 PM
I have been seriously considering the Random Technologies Highflow Cat.
02-20-2006, 07:23 PM
i would i just installed it last week its awsome thats all i have to say get it u wont regret it [thumb]
02-20-2006, 08:03 PM
get the high flow best thing i did to my car!! sounds great and adds power!
