Hi to all that read this....i just have a question regarding the 30,000 mile service, is it worth doing at the ford dealer that i bought it from?
i have a 04 svt (yes i know a lot of miles...lol.) and have done all my services at the ford dealrship that i have bought my car from...they want a good $300 if im correct maybe more.
im from england and now living here in florida, back home its not a big deal if you get them done else where....does it matter here?
any info would be greatly apreciated....thanks again.

I live in Orlando too, which dealer do you get your service done at that quoted you that price? Tropical Ford quoted me $150 or so for the 15k service don't have the manual handy to see what the differences b/t the two are.

Hey Jared I used to work at Tropical. It's $135 for the 15,000 mile service (oil change, fuel filter, rotate and balance, and alignment) and about $400 I believe for the 30,000 mile service.(same as 15,000 with coolant flush, trans flush, and injector flush) I would recomend doing everything but the injector flush. Save yourself $80, it doesn't do anything. Just a way for the dealer to make money, and if not done right it can mess things up. I believe maintanence is really important to your car, so thats why I do it.

i payed $400 for my 30K maintnace. I went to my dealer. Remember u have a SVT so u get a loaner car and free car wash from ur dealer for any service they do. U did know that right???

Thats cool, $135 sounds about right. And I suppose $3-400 isn't too bad for most of that servicing it just takes some getting used to after paying $30 every time for oil change and rotation. One thing that makes me mad though is that they always put next service due in 3000 miles on the windshield sticker when it says in the manual to do it every 5000 miles, probably a money thing.
To answer your original question Tossa, I've always taken my car back to the dealer just as a preference thing, though there are enough horror stories on here about peoples dealer service experiences. If you can find a reputible auto repair shop that you feel you can trust I wouldn't see anything wrong with that.
