Tom,
Any experience using avaition gas? I have a local airport just down the street.
Back in the day, we used it with 12.5 to one compression big blocks. Just wondering how well it will work for boost...

Av gas it made for HIGH load and low RPM , Automotive is made for low load and HIGH RPM
I dont recomend using it in an Automotive engine

It just kills me when I go to a rod show and smell the av gas. It is a total waste on a car. The engines in most general aviation engines max rpm is about 2700 rpm. The fuel burns slower to acomodate. you would loose power runing it in your car, boosted or not.

not a good idea because it contains lead, which will hurt your car!

av gas is good gas if you have something that is non-computer controlled. VP racing fuels make a unleaded fuel that around 115 octane, give that try if you have high boost or high compression and nitrous.

If you really dig the smell ( I do ) , VP makes several unleaded race fuels, just add a gallon or two to the tank and you will raise the octane a few points and get the smell you desire...Tome is right ( of course ), avgas really isn't the best in a car, there are better fuels of high octane.
Funny thing, I ride motorcycle trials. My two trials bikes both require race fuel ( Vp red pre-mix , they are two strokes ). Anyway, one weekend I needed to run the weedeater and was out of the cheap gas, so I ran it on fuel. Makes mowing the weeds feel like you are at the track, so now, just for giggles I run it all the time, I only keep one premix around and I use VERY little in the weedeater and chain saw, so yeah, I know the way you feel. Best fed weedeater in the county!!!
