Lets improve the next SoCal G2G / Tech Day. I know some of you guys have already expressed that you would like to have another tech day. The tentitve date is the 22nd of January at my buds shop in the Whittier / La Mirada area. (Corner of Valley View and Imperial) I am going to talk to different vendors for this event. So if you need or want any parts PM and I will see if I can get them for you.

Let me know what kind of food you guys want (if any, there is an Arbys across the street) and what kind of things you guys want to do.

Last time we put the G2G together in 3 weeks. this time we have 7 - 8 weeks. So we should be able to get more cars there. Last time we had 13 - 14 cars so lets try to get 20 there. Next time I think we should do the Turnbull Canyon drive.[thumb]

So just give me your input and I will see what I can do. Remember this is everyones event so we can do whatever we want.

I'm definitely down for the tech day. I've already got it on the calender and cleared it through the wife (still a newly wed so I gotta do the right thing...hehe). I have quite the list of things that I could use getting done. I have the nitrous system still (unless I sell it before then, anyone interested?), neon undercar, greddy e-manage system, strobe lites, etc.

LOL, I'm working on it right now. Tom's blow-through base tune is what I'm looking at right now.

well i just ordered $50 in lights from oznium. I am finally gonna install a light in the glove box and more light in the trunk.

Nice. I ned to put 2 in my trunk for a trunk light.

On a sidenote, I saw a Yellow SVT with the EAP on the 118 this morning. I know it belongs to someone on this forum because I've seen it in pictures from other G2G. Anyone know who he is?

Here is an update. I am going to speak to the owner of the shop on Saturday for our G2G. I will ask him if we can use his shop the third or forth week in Jan. After I get a confirmation I will create a roll call for the "event" and post the link here. oh and Phibes I talked to my bud about the headlight bulbs and he just got some more in and he will bring them to the G2G.

shaun where did you take your car? mine went into capo ford. apparently some connectors were resting on the block and they melted and it caused a short. apparently it took them forever to find. haha. o well i get it back today.

I took mine to capo ford as well. I am really pleased with their service. I saw a blue sedan when I was there parked right next to me. it looked just like mine but in blue it was sweet. anyways my pos battery cable fried and caused the short in the altinator. Oh and did you see the sick ford GT in the show room?

I would go with factory parts If I were you..... Of corse You have heard my rear brakes, they cost 20.00 with a lifetime warranty (BUT THEY SQUEAL REALLY BAD) After hard braking.
I'm switching out the rears for factory stuff.

umm right now i'm a maybe since it's the 22. i got stuff to install but's it's all gonna be bodywork . well actually i have pads and front rotors to do. but i don't think i wanna make the drive again lol. plus i'll probably be working since i need to get a job when i get back from xmas break. so yeah um i'm probably still a no lol

I'll probably be there.... but not as late as last time [;)] I dont think I'll have anything to work on though. This month im installing a carbon fiber hood, headlights, cathodes, amp and sub. Actually i'm thinking of sound dampening my doors a bit, they rattle like crazy with the slightest bass. Maybe I'll save that for the meet, im sure others may want to do that also.

I can install hood pins if you need them.

I'll probably make it out there this time....................... I want to get some hood pins installed on my CF hood. I am also hoping to install my 5" tach and have a radar detector hardwired. ???????? I'll get back at you guys. If I don't get my turbo kit ready in time, I'll at least have an ORP and engine mounts to install. I'll be able to help a lot of people with electronics and hood pins.

BTW, I can get Sparco hood pins for $20 even and they come in an assorment of colors if anyone is interested. If you need pics of what they look like, PM me and I'll show you on my hood.

Ok, went to the parts store and I can get the Blue Hood Pins from Sparco for $20. As for the Black ones, they don't make them in black, but I did find out they make carbon ones for $40.

I installed 6 cathodes in my car to a switch and 2 in the trunk with the trunk light. I can help out with these no prob. A maybe on a balance shaft delete for the meet also.

I just installed a new LED dome light and LED side markers.[thumb] It looks way cool but now I need to get LED map lights to help match the hyper white light I now have in the dome.

Where did you pick up the led dome light? Right now I just have the standard light that I painted blue. Its just a small circuit board with leds on it that you insert right? I thought about trying to fabricate one myself, I work with electronic stuff at work.

Yeah I wont be going. I am one that did not have the best of times there. I went and no one really talked to me. I would ask questions and they would answer them tehen go back to ignoring me. I told them I post on FF.com and they said "oh were sorry".

Hey guy's. Thanks for the kind welcome to the socal crew. Well between now and the end of Febuary I plan on a CAI, and some of those cool headlights like black2k's. BTW should I get the headlights in black or chrome. I'm thinking Black becouse I want a two tone style to my foci. Black lip kit and all aftermarket parts in black. So yes I will at least be bringing a CAI or Headlights or both.

oh and where and when is the FJ Sonic meet. I Have Finales at 7 tonight. Am interested but proly cant make it sry

8 dollars and shipping for those lights is not bad. Still I think id rather give it a shot and make it myself. Im more of a do-it yourselfer and I have some blue leds I ordered from Phil awhile ago anyways.

Actually since im at it, I think I'll convert my domelight to include some maplight leds and switches. Its not that im cheap, I just like the experience and to be able to say I did it myself.

My LED side markers are freaking bright. They look sweet. But I forget the LEDs can only be installed one way. The electric curent can only flow one way and one of my lights did not work untill I took it out and turned it 180* and put it back in. I love 'em.

Oh and I just installed a 4" white CCFL in my glove box. But I need to find a way to reflect the light down into the glove box. As it is now you can see better in there but I think I can reflect more light, and it will be more usefull.

I would be fair and still counter at 70.00 with pick-up It's a good deal.
Plus you need to paint it too.... so you use that when your countering.

oh BTW guys i think i'm gonna kinda strip my car and/or sell off my parts. i figure after i priced out everything i planned on doing to it this year anyways will be enough to buy the Evo i have always wanted since 02. so i'm gonna do my best to save for it. which means removing some stuff i don't need as well as selling off the parts i have and the ones i'm waiting to get shipped from europe.


i guess i'll show up since it's the weekend before i start school again unless i have found a job and am working that day but most likely not.

i'm not saying if i'm gonna do this or not yet since i wanna think about it when i'm home in CT, but most likely i will bring my car back to stock then use it as a beater/ DD since thats really what a stock focus is. and considering my 00 focus with almost 70k miles is probably only worth 5,000 it's pointless to sell for a more reliable beater when i know this is in good shape.

at the tech day i am just gonna try make my car emissions legal for now then slowly take off parts when i feel the time is right. i'm not rushing it because i still gotta drive this thing, and i will keep on driving it as a DD if i do get an evo. since my focus has been paid off for awhile now it's not like i'm gonna make money selling it. i still like going to meets and stuff and i'm not gonna roll up in some stock POS. because thats just not me.[:)]

only reason it's gonna be emissions legal is because 1 i just got ANOTHER check engine light from the crack in the header, and 2 because i'm too lazy/dont feel it's worth it to bring the car back to CT to re-test it for emissions in april. since i'll probably buy some beat up 240sx if it do go back to CT.

Okay here is the deal about where the meet will be held. We have 3 choices.

First we can use the shop my bud works at and we can use their lifts (about 4 lifts for us to use) and have a BBQ there. But we would then need to bring our own tools. And the use of the shop is free.

Second we can use the lifts and a set of all the tools we would need, but because the tools belong to a mechanic and not the shop we would have to pay $150 for the mechanic to be there so he can watch his tools, but that mechanic will help us all day and any work he does will be under warranty. And will still have a BBQ.

Third we can have the Tech day at the same place we did last time. (Troy’s house) And we will still have a BBQ.

So if the people that are doing some major installs want the work to be done under a warranty and the work preformed it may be worth it to pay the $150. And like last time there will be a small charge to help cover for food, drink and supplies ($5 - $10) I want to have the decision made by 01-02-05 Monday. So every body put in your two cents and we will go from there.

Personally any of those options are cool with me. I'll let the majority rule.

Add pcv valve to my list. I've had it for awhile but found out its under/behind the intake manafold and a pain to get to. I had to have Ford give me a print out to even find where it was located.

the owner pays his mechanics $150 / day. that is what they make for thier work everyday. My buddy will be there hanging out with us and prob the owner too, to make sure nothing takes off or is broken. The tools belong to the mechanics. So to use their tools they will want to be there and they will help out and work on anything, it would just be another day of work for them.

yeah there should be 3 wires (1 sensor, 1 power, 1 ground) theres instructions in the box you buy them in.

Hey have we decided where were going to meet?? I say lets pay the tech I will Definatly have a FS Cat Back. going to pick it up in the morning. And Hopfully the SVT suspention kit. Have to order that. And I'm not sure if I can wait to install my K&N CAI I just ordered. Might do that on my own. Hey is their any way to take back my vote for the mechanic and put it towards Troys house?? I don't mind not having a lift. I'v gotten so exited since I got my FS CAI and Cat-Back that I installed my CAI by myself the day I got it. It only took me 2:15 to compleat. Not bad for my first ever CAI install, and on a Duraec PZEV no less. And im so antzie that im going to go to my uncls shop in Azusa and get some lift time their next week. He won't charge me anything, but i'll give him $50 for his time.

yeah as long as your shit isn't rusted it will be easy. if somebody doesn't have a strut spring compressor you can rent one at autozone for like 40 or 20$ and then you get it back when you return it. it will probably only take 2 hours or so with all the people there as long as we have more than 1 set of tools.

i have no clue how they work. i am gonna pay to get my car 4 wheel aligned when i get some money. because i need the fronts done too. but not as bad as the rears. what springs are going on there?

i got a Red FS rear bar. practically brand new. was on another car for like 4 months then i haven't even put it on my car yet.

nice. i hope i can get enough scratch together to at least do something other then the throttle body.

We are stil bedating wether we want the mechanic there or not and to either have it the shop or Troy's house. The mechanic will cost $150 for the day if we decide to have him there. Those who want him there are probably going to split the cost unless you want to have him to yourself. Then you pay for him yourself. If we decide to not have the mechanic, we'll have to bring our own tools to work on the cars.

I'll be out of own till the 13th starting tomorrow. I may not be able to check the boards and keep track.

well we had enough tools the last time we did this and if it's at troys we will just be working on cars and we can get 2 cars on jackstands at a time then another 2-3 can have stuff worked on in the driveway. although it's a pretty far drive for me so i'll be heading out early instead of hanging out until whenever everybody left last time.

I probably won't need a garage because it looks like all I have to install is an ORP and some motor mounts. Unfortunately, due to some shopping delays, I won't get the turbo kit together in time.

Hey, I don't know if this is an issue or not, When I turn on my air, (either for heat or air conditioner) I can hear a faint clicking or popping sound. It'll happen about once every 30 secons or so. I never noticed it before was I just oblivious or is that somethign I need to check on?

I can't wait to meet up with all the other Foci owners. I am all pretty much stock still, but I hope to get an idea of what is possible with my car.

Oh, and on your problem, have you tried resetting your ECU? Just disconnect your battery for about 10 seconds and reattach the negative. Ususally, our cars need to be reset and learn anything new that has been put in.
