I know this has been asked several times already. But who has accomplished "venting" the BOV to the atmosphere? How was it done?

I understand the effects of the MAF system and suck-though and blow through.

A guy I know has a Miata, that is boosted ans he is "venting" his BOV , now im not completely sure if out MAF's are the same, but he was explainting it to me that he had to cut a flap... or something in the MAF.. dont quote me, cuz I foregot........

I know its"ricey" to some of you, but Id like to be herd and intimidated...................
what are my options?

Tom's done it (of course) we have it on mine. We use the blow through MAF and you place the BOV before it so you dont vent metered air...... thats about it.....

There are also "dual-port" blow off valves that vent some to atmosphere. They give you the sound you are looking for. We use them on WRX's all the time, they do work better venting it all back in though..

yeah as long as it's before the MAF you should be good

So, there is no way of running my set up this way................ TB>MAf>BOV>IC>Turbo>Turbo>filter..........................

I know I have to have it TB>BOV>IC>Turbo>Turbo>MAf>filter

two turbos?

That's what gets me about Tom's kit. He has a mount point for the blow off valve and I don't understand how that works since everything I've read says that a bov after the maf is going to do nothing but cause problems. I'd think you'd want to recirculate that back into the intake track post-maf. Hopefully he can clear that up for us.

um, i dont think tom's kits come with bov..he will mount one for you, but it doesnt come with one

I didn't say the kit came with a bov. The piping on the kit I've helped install expects a blow off valve.

True Tom's kit doesn't come with a BOV, but the piping already has the flange installed on it, all you do is bolt one on.

You can get the BOV through Tom when you order the kit.......

tom doesn’t sell BOVs because there are 2 many sizes, shapes, and colors

I missed this earlier but that's not the way Pitch Black's is setup and he received his kit in August. Guess it could be another part of Tom's shining service.
