Ok so I've decided to step up and arrange some G2Gs going on here in ABQ.

It would take some time to get most of the people to visit this thread, so I will update where and when the G2G will happen.

yo jealm wanna install those springs this saturday????? just get the compressor from autozone its like 46, but u get your money back once you return the sturt compresor. it can take us about 3.5-4 hrs, i did it on 3.5hrs

Hey everyone me and a couple of my friends were planning a little cruise on friday the 30th so I thought it would be nice to have a G2G before the new year.

Hey you guys up for something this weekend? I totally didn't see this thread before.

Perhaps we should set a date, time and place? quiksilver had mentioned Friday the 30th. jealm can't make it before 5pm. So, perhaps this Friday, December 30th at 5pm? If not, perhaps sometime Saturday afternoon.

As far as a place to meet, I would like to propose basically the same place as last time, but a different part of the parking lot. That way we wouldn't be taking up valuable space and it's kind of out of the way.

quiksilver: if you are looking for new fog bulbs and want something really nice and white, then you should get some Hoen (http://www.hoen-usa.com) bulbs. I haven't gotten any myself, at least not yet, but people use them as fogs and high beams to match their HIDs, and they do match quite well. I'll probably wait to do the foglight wire mod until I can get a pair of those bulbs. I just really don't like the yellowish look of halogens any more. After driving with HIDs for several months it's hard to fathom how I was able to see at night without them, heh.

I'm up for it. If we want to do a crest run, however, I would suggest we meet even earlier since it will take at least an hour and a half to get to the crest from where we meet. Perhaps we could meet at lunch time, grab some bites, then head out? And definitely be sure to take lots of pictures and post our meet on the boards, first pics at 5,000' elevation, and second pics at 10,600', heh. We'll lose about 15hp going up the mountain too.

I ran 40 all around but it looks like after i did my runs I need to run slightly higher pressure in the front tires. 40 did well on the backs. The driver side front tire may need high 40s while the passenger front tire may only need low to mid 40s. I ran up about half way on the sidewall of my driver side front tire. Becuase of how the laps were arranged there wasn't any time to make adjustments to your car between runs. We ran in groups of 4 so you only have about 3 minutes between runs.

My car is at Don Chalmer's right now (this is its last chance before I pull it into oncoming traffic and buy something else) to get the shift linkages fixed. They are slipping, not just out of adjustment. So, as long as I have my car back and it runs, I'll be there.

I FINALLY found the problem with my shifting: There is a twist collar that locks the shift cable onto the support bracket, which is mounted on the transmission housing. Well, my twist collar is brokwn clean in two, so I won't be there.

What's the deal?

Well, we all stood around, shot the bull, and froze our asses off. It was cold out there.....damn cold. It was cool getting to meet other Focus owners though. I've been to a hand full of meetings and that was the largest one I've been to yet. I think when I got there (LATE) I was the 5th Focus to show up. My daughter had the stomach flu so I couldn't stay very long but it was cool none the less. I also gave Gabe (y2kpedo) a spare black SVT coolant cover I had laying around. It's about time that thing found a good home [:)] I look forward to another meeting. I hope everyting stays in working order for you. It will be good to meet you at last.

this was my second g2g and it turned out better than the first. But damn it sure was
cold. look forward to the upcoming g2g on the 11th of feb and the autox on the 18th!!!

Last year my brother and I made a crest run on my birthday at the end of feb and the roads were still really bad how are they this year?

there hasnt been any snow to speak of. roads are in good shape (as of now)
but you know how the new mexico weather is. 110 one day and snow the next

If the roads are good, I'm definitely up for a Crest run. And I will definitely wash my car next time.

I should be able to make the 11th. My ex usually picks up my daughter on Sunday morning, but I might be able to push it ahead a day.

Hye NMFocusSVT, isn't there a blue SVT running around there too? I see him parked outside some store at the town before Socorro.

I know for sure there are 2 blue SVTs in/around Socorro. One is a '04 3 door EAP that is owned by a middle-aged lady (sadly, it doesn't look that greatly cared for as the headlight lenses are fading already), and the other is a regular 3 door, of which I have no idea who owns it. I saw a silver SVT in town a while ago, but only saw it that once. The two blue SVTs are the only ones that I see on a regular basis.

zal, it's pretty easy to find our meeting spot. Just go South on I-25 and get off at the Montgomery/Montano exit. Turn right (West) and you will see some fast food places on your right hand side. Turn right at the first stop light and keep to the right and then turn right into the fast food places. We meet up in the parking lot behind the IHOP. We'll be meeting up there at noon tomorrow and then heading up to the crest (as long as the weather cooperates, which it looks like it will).

You should be there. The more, the better!

Then its off to the shop to get it welded in.

but, most people from ABQ, are meeting in the shoping center that has the CompUSA, starbucks, Dos hermanos, Circuit city, etc. on Cuttler and San Mateo. right off the I-40, west on San mateo. the meet will be in front of Dos Hermanos.

we should be there by 7:00, so if u want to get something to eat. we will be leaving the shoping center by 7:30 sharp. PCA wants people to be there by 8:30. i think that is when registration happens.

it will be like $30. i suggest u bring something to eat or have some extra money.

how much did the whole turbo venture cost you? since your car has
been out of commission for quite some time now. BTW drag races
start on March 5, which is on a sunday during the late morning early
afternoon. Interested to see how many people are in shock when they
lose to a Focus!!!!

the whole thing running has cost me about 16,000 not including the car. But keep in mind this is the 3rd motor and speed dreams blowing up the last motor and a few mods ran me about 4k

but overall probably 9k in parts, 7k in labor

not going to get a roll cage. I bought a laptop instead. and a rather nice one
at that!!!

cool now when and if you get a SCT CAL 2 you can dialogue your car and fine tune it.

i will have to call wanye over a hypnotic illusions and get him my specs and
get the xcal 2. then if anyone wants to tune up their ride I will have the
xcal 2 to loan. For a fee of course!! LOL

sorry wish that was possible, the Xcal2 is vin locked specific for your vehicle. Me and Gabe already tried.

take tha LT to the tracks and we can datalog our cars with my X cal 2 the loptop.

one question that I have. What is so special about datalogging?

i really dont know, but i like looking at the graphs, oh and if u plan on getting an X cal, u can send that information to the dealer, and they can make a better tune. talk to wayne about it from hypnotic illusions, and he will somewhat agree with me

because on the logue it shows specifically what your car is lacking so they can fine tune your car.

ya that header looks good but the flex look very ugly, and i dont even think its 2 1/4in dim. dude trust me on this one get one of the ones i've listed.

oh and trust me i think u should get the FS stealth exhaust system. the set up that you are building its going to be LOUD. and please get a FS exhaust u wont reget it. i think its better than the Magnaflow. cause the magnaflow when it gets hot, it get louder and louder. i've had it in two cars and it does the same.

plus the tip on the FS exhaust loooooks so nice.

Stage numbers are only comparable within one makers cams. They are not cross referenceable. That's why so many people don't even like to talk about cam stages. Instead they talk lift and duration since that's the real deal. Thoes are the only numbers that you can compare between makers of cams.

well im not sure how loud the borla is, but think it will be loud. maybe not as loud as mine though. why?? i dunno.

im planning on getting the stealth muffler from FS and add it to my system. u might want to try the same. i've tryed it before with my old foci, and trust me, that thing was quiet. but @ WOT, omg it was a lovely sound. loud but sporty loud.

Well here in a about 3 weeks im gonna paint my rims black with a 2 stage process, if anyone else wants in let me know, I will do a set of 4 rims for 50$ and this will be a base+clearcoat

Hey guys. Sorry I've been away. Lots going on and all. My car is at Rich Ford right now getting the broken seat pan fixed. They also pulled the radio since it was having issues with resuming CD playing. Ah well. At least I get a free rental.

I'm up for another G2G, but I'm not sure when. I may have something going on with work on April 1st, and I'm likely to not get my car back until next Saturday, which leaves nothing to say of getting it cleaned up. Plus I've been up to Abq. so much recently that I (and my wallet) want to take a break from driving up there for a few weeks.

the exhaust sounds sweet. Super quiet when just crusing. Cant wait to get the
header and flex pipe on!!!! Gains on installing the exhaust were ok for the butt
dyno, and the acceleration is much better and smoother. How about the snow!?

Also got the speedhut gauges installed. black backround with the Ford Racing logo
on the tach, with a blue glow at night. it looks better than the green glow.

so is every one on for the april 1st g2g????

it is possible that he just put the certifications on their so that he can sell them.
