Okay here it is, the long awaited tech day. There will be a Tech/Spa day on 11/19/2005. It will be held at Troys (ztecpower) house. We will work and detail cars hang out, eat, drink, and be merry. We want to provide all the food and cleaning supplies but because that crap is not free we will need help. I am a working stiff and will be fronting all the money for this event, so your help would be great. I am asking for a $10 donation. This will cover food and supplies. If you dont want to detail your car and just want to wrench on cars and eat food then a $5 donation will be more fitting. If there is any money left over maybe we will raffel it off, or keep it for the next meet. (we can all figure this out later.) We will meet at 9:00am on Saturday the 19 of November. Troy please post directions to your house.

Tech: Troy has a grip of all the tools we would need for just about any project, but if you have some tools or specialty tools please bring those too.

Spa: I have contacted Wayne at Waynes towels about getting all the supplies from him. So will have the best stuff money can buy. (or at least the best stuff I can buy.) I do plan on getting Clay Bar, which if you plan on doing on the tech/spa day will pay for your $10 donation right there. I will be talking to Wayne later today so I will let you guys know about what else we will have.

Food: The cheap way to do this is Pizza. I would prefer if we did a BBQ. If we do a BBQ We can supply basics, but if you want your filet mignon bring your own. As for drinks, let me know what you want to have.

Fun: I will bring my xboxes and some games. Troy has a monster of a TV that we can use for games, movies, sports, ect..

Please understand this is a community effort if you say you are going to come please come because I will be buying food and supplies for you and I will need your $. If you are a no show and I thought you were coming, I eat that cost.

Please post what kind of projects you may want to preform so we can all help out and make sure we have everything you will need. Post what kind of food and drinks you want. Post if you are going to want to detail your car. (So I know what/how much to order.) Post anything that might help make this day better.

Some of you may need to drive a long distance to get here, but it will be worth it. If your getting married on that day, change the wedding, your wife is due on the day, put a cork in her. My goal is to see at least 20 Foci there.

Hell, throw in a place to crash for the night and I'll be set. I'm a electronics wizard. I've done almost everything. From sound systems to lighting. I know how to wire without drilling holes (except for under car lighting kits).

Unless any of you know how to fab and tune a turbo kit in less than a day, I think I'll just be walking around helping out anyone. [thumb]

Xbox/Halo LAN party?

I only have a PS2, but I an S-Video cable that connects to the GC, PS2, and Xbox. Bring the poker chips, I'm sure we'll all want to play sooner or later.

Well I have two xboxes and two copies of Halo 2 we can hook up and play 8 people. I even have an xbox live account on one of the xboxes, so there can be some online game play for four people.

^^Actually the yellow on yellow might be a bit of an overkill IMO.
Besides I was only going to consider yellow fogs after I get an upper grill with no park lights and clear corners.

However I would be interested in some brighter/whiter fog light bulbs to match my HID's

Does anyone have experience doing an NX kit on a Focus? That will make me feel a little better.

^^ I double posted..... Huh ?? [confused] Oh well maybe a mod could delete the 1st one, I havn't installed an NX kit but I have done a Jackson Racing supercharger, A Vortech supercharger install.... It CAN'T Be any Harder than that .!!!

In the new Focus Fanatics, Cosworth did a duratec header install. We may just need to go off of that when we do it. I'll bring my copy.

Ok...also, do you know of a place to get nitrous in that neck of the woods?

Focus sport or brothers Performance Would be the hook up but I don't know if they will have the systems in stock..........

I can usually hook up a Lighting kit in about 2 hours, depending on what type it is and how high we can get the car jacked up. I'll only have to drill one hole for wiring and the holes for mounting, other than that, I know all of the nooks and spaces that I can run wiring. It's my specialty since I've done about 3 different ones on my car and another 3 one different cars.

I am going to start a list of the mods I see listed in this thread. I will post it about a week before the event so you guys know what kind of work we need done.

as for the underbody neon install depending what kit you have you will have a hole driller in your firewall or flooorboard. i can show how mine went in if needed.

as said before still undecided as what needs to get done depending what i can do before hand

Hopefully they have about 4 low profile jacks and about double the jack stands. AND hopefully a torque wrench.

the lip is made by kaminari i got it from some guy on one of the forums idk i paid 150 for it used then another 40 to have it shipped from CA to CT before i moved here it was worth it though. i feel this is the best lip besides the JMS that is made for our car and i am happy with it

oh and as far as low profile jacks i have tthe only one that gets under my car. it's a craftsman 1.5ton hydraulic jack. starts 3 3/4" off the ground. maybe a little lower but thats where it is right now. those 2-4 ton jacks don't fit unless i drive my tire onto a block of wood.

i got some torx screwdrivers if anybody plans on taking off their door panels or something. i also have a set of metric wrenches, standard small sized deep sockets, then a 22 piece socket set (10 metric, 10 standard 3/8 drive socket wrench and a 2 or 3" extention) i also got a 1/4" drive wratchet with some other various small sockets. i have 2 jackstands too

I don't run a shop guys, I have 1 low pro jack and 2 jackstands, a creeper, and 2 ramps, we can't jack up more than 2 cars at a time because we only have 2 flat slabs (One in the garage and 1 in the carport, Beside the garage)
I also don't have a torque wrench Sorry.... [:(]

yeah i dont have a problem bringing my tools down. they fit nicely in the hatch so thats another jack and 2 stands. i guess i'll drive down i pprobably wont be there really early or anything but w/e i'll see if i want to wake up or not

I got stock wheels maybe you can by them from me. The tread on the tires is only good for a couple k, if that. How much can you pay for the four wheels? What about 60 or 70 dollars apiece? Thats wheels and tires. They are the 10 spoke seen on the 2003 se and 15" ers.

you should have a locksmith do it, there are some special tools required to get the tumbler/lock assy. out of the column.

Oh and I talked to intuneauto and he said he's gonna try and come out also. I'm going down to F2 tomorrow and try and pick up a tune from Ricardo and I'll try and solidify it a bit more. He'll be a great help on anything Sound or Electronic wise.

i gotta redo my foglight mod since i tried i the way you can do it with sticking a piece of 2 zip ties in the relay but it was dark and after about 5 tries it wasn't working. umm i may have rotors and pads, new foglight bulbs. possibly a new highbeam bulb for my hid's. install my euro front plate. maybe some eyelids, glossy triangles and wash it.
i'll save my valve cover, oil change and tensioner puller for when i do my SC the next weekend with my friends up here.

I recently made my own custom 3" Cai so I have some 3" pct pipe left over and can help anyone make their own. I'd also be interested in more work if someone could recommend a decent project for under 100$. Is there a place I can get the neon cathodes locally, I'd like to do that for my underdash. oh yeah bulbs! I talked to my friend about it and I think he is going to give me like 6 pair to bring with me to the tech day. So you can see them then. He told me that he warrentys them for life. So if they go out you call him up and he will get you new ones.

Does your friend deal with cathodes? I'd like to get some to mod my car on the 19th but dont think they will get here in time if I order them online.

no. he just has bulbs. he can get any kind of bulbs but no cathodes. I get mine from here (http://www.oznium.com/) I dont think the shipping takes too long. email Phil over at http://www.oznium.com/ he can tell you when you will have them by.

i got some spade connectors. not sure if they will fit the 12ga wire. if not we can make a trip to home depot or some hardware store. home depot sells 12ga wire for like 10c a foot or something. i baught 3 ft of 16ga and it cost a quarter[:)]

anyone have any experience tinting the tails? or fixing that film on the headlights that comes from mousture or whatever it is? ive seen a lot of focuses with it. does anyone happen to have an extra set of stock headlights?

id like to have a satellite radio receiver by the time of the tech day. Im debating whether to go with Sirius or XM. I like the XM MiFi, but i really need to know who has the better set up for the car. I have the AM/FM/MP3 stereo unit, im not sure of its model name or whatever, i dont know where to look. There are no auxiliary inputs that im aware of, and i dont have a tape deck, just the cd player. I am more into music than sports or talk, my dad loves nascar, and i dont care about howard stern. Hope that helps you help me. All my audio is stock. I am looking to get the radio before i get speakers.

found a replacement already one of mine has an extra on a spare for his car. he's gonna let me have it for $20. [:D] my tire is deciding to hold air again so IDK what it is. i'm just gonna wait until tomarrow and see if i need his tire. i'm gonna be replacing all 4 once i get back out here after the holidays anways since it's almost time for new ones. i just need to have my exhaust leak taken car of unless any of you want to crawl undr my car on jackstand and try to stretch my exhaust apart where the sections meet.



oh and today i needed to go to home depot so i picked up 4 ft of 12ga and a small box that has 5 12-10AWG spade connectors for people needing the foglight mod. if you want.you may need to get some more connectors since IIRC it uses 2 space connectors per vehicle so get some connectors if you wanna do it. the box of 5 cos me 99c at home depot and they have yellow on them not blue or red ;)

I may end up doin some work to my vehicle after all. I just received my Lite-Rider bar and just ordered 4 sets of CCFL's( 2 red,green and orange cream...whatta ever that is...lol) from Oznium. Dragon and intuneauto, what setup do you recommend to start me off with satellite radio? I want to build for the future. Expansion is key. Let me know in what order i should get the speakers, woofers, amps, satellite radio, head unit, and anything else. I proly have about $80 a week after bills are paid leftover to spend for my car. I would like to improve my audio system immediately if possible. I am a 17 year old kid making minimum wage and going to school and i do a lot of driving for my mom and sister. I also need to keep a little trunk space for groceries, school, and camping and such. I got an auto cause I've had my share of sticks and being that I'm getting closer to 50 than 40 I'm just friggin tired of shifting. I didn't have plans on trickin it out the way it's gone. I was just gonna put in an amp and subwoofer, wheels and tires and the ford ground effects. Once I got that done I couldn't stop [8] I also like my tires a whole lot. If I needed to get another set I would have no problems in buying them again.

The first thing I would do is speakers then go from there. intuneauto would be much better person to sound this off of since I've done all my sound thru him.

a small 10" sub should be fine. i can let you listen. show you in my car. i needed my space but it bumps when i need it to. also my radio that i purchased allows me to control how loud the sub is. it's nice because sometimes a slong can be too bassey or have not enough and i can fix that.

I'm about to re-do my sound system. Run better wiring, make a new box.

I got my cathodes yesterday, so im happy. My mechanic managed to rig my hood so I can still open and close it after that car accident too so im good to go. I should still be showing up at least for a few hrs.

^^ Yea, I mowed the front yard in the dark (I did the back yard first) I used the trusty weed-whacker to trim the lawn ends (I like my lawn to have a clean-cut look whaen I have the time)
But it's all done ! Tonight I gotta go pick up the propane and get the BBQ clean, Re-arrange the garage, so we can work on the cars better. And Of course the house needs a sprucin' up
But that's all tonight.

The food Will be chips, cheese burgers, and SODA, please if you are drinking BYOB, I will not supply beer for everyone (Kinda of expensive) I don't mind anyone drinking but make sure you guys keep it reasonable [thumb]

We will have all of the FORD specialty tools thanks to my friend Elderfeces, 2 Air compressors, And Various air tools. There is a radio in the garage and we will be listening to whatever the MAJORITY want's to [;)] I am asking that once you are done with the tools that you put them back where they came from (I'd like to keep all of my tools)

troy just wanna say thanks again for having us...me. and not to make you feel too bad but man did you miss a good time at the dyno day. lol just playing it was alright. the exhaust finally is enjoyable to listen to again. i was able to get a nice 3rd gear pull coming back from san pedro after i picked up my rear stress bar. the cosworth car was there and they dyno'd at 200.3 whp on a 2.3 all motor there was a couple 230 SC foci and there was a 400 hp VW R32 SC'd

I have a friend who manages a tire shop in the Whittier / La Mirada area, he said we can have a tech day there on a Sunday (because they are closed on Sundays). They have 7 bays and 5 car lifts.
