I'm thinking about putting on a set of adj. cam gears on my SVTF and I was wondering if that is a worth wild upgrade? If so what should I set my timing to on them, all I have is a steeda shortram on my car everything else stock. Thanks ya'll!!

You should probably wait until you get some cams with the gears to get the maximum performance out of them.
If you are going to do it yourself, BE CAREFUL as the SVT zetec motor IS an interference motor. What that means is if the timing is out or you're not careful, you will bend or break the valves!
You can only use an adjustable gear on the exhaust cam.
The intake is controlled by the VCT Variable Cam Timing module.
There are some gains to be had by adjusting the exhaust, but to do it properly,
you need to spend some time on the dyno to get it set right.
As of this time, there aren't any aftermarket cams for the SVTF....soon though....if we're lucky.

You can run TWO cam gears on the SVT, but you'll need the VCT Eliminator kit from www.focus-power.com
It also does need to be tuned on a dyno.....

That sounds like too much work and too much money to spend on a few horses to me so I'll pass on that mod. Thanks for the info ya'll!!
^^^That's why I didn't even mention the intake gear/VCT eliminator^^^
Probably a good thing you brought it up though, 03OrangeSVT, just to show it can be done if needed.

It sure beats having to replace the VCT if it goes bad[thumb]
