can someone please tell me where to locate the sending unit on the Getrag tranny? im installing a tranny temp gauge soon, and need somewhere to stick it! any help is needed.

The only electrical connection at the transmission is for the back up lights. There is no place in the gearbox to install a temp sensor other than the Drain plug or drill and tap a hole in the case. I guess I am not sure why you want to put a temp gauge in the trans?

Do you have an Oil temp gauge for the engine? ( and the one on the dash does not count, it does not actually see oil temp the computer just decides where to point the gauge based on how hard it thinks you are driving and what the water temp is)

If you are going to spend very much time playing at the track (road course not drag racing) then I recomend a good oil pressure gauge (same thing as the oil temp gauge from Ford, it does not actually see oil pressure) and Water & Oil temp gauges are much more important than trans temp.

After 30 minutes of road course fun on a 95 deg day my car was making 200 deg water temp, 250+ deg oil temp !!! and 240 deg of trans temp (measured with an infered temp gun)

The engine oil temp is the only one that is outside what I would call a comfortable range.

Test port? it takes almost 20 min of hard running to get the trans up to temp. In a 60 second Solo II you might raise the temp of the oil in the trans 10 deg!!! And most of that will be heat transfer from the fact it is bolted to the engine. This is not an automatic trans that has pumps, filters, small passage ways, valve bodies, shifting bands and torque converters. The oil in the trans comes up to just shy of the middle of the lower gear sets and as they turn in the oil it just gets thrown around inside the case to lubricate everything. You should spend the time, money and energy on something else. If you really want to know, get a infared temp gun and you can check the trans temp, the engine oil temp and the tire temps after every run (you won't have time to look at any gauges while you are out on the Solo II course anyway)
