: New owner...
AdrenalineSVT 10-03-2005, 10:07 PM Just thought I would introduce myself... About 2 weeks ago I picked up a bone stock 2004 Screaming Yellow SVT ZX5 Focus w/ less than 15k miles...
I'm loving the car so far, and the color grows on me more and more daily... Getting very close to 30mpg (mostly highway) is helping too... [driving]
[cheers]
fspeed 10-03-2005, 10:10 PM [welcome] Nice choice. Happy modding!

true, but we all know infra-red is the best color[;)]
CrazyMatt 10-04-2005, 04:40 PM I gotta go with the Yellow, myself... hehe
03_SVTFoci 10-04-2005, 06:56 PM Welcome and congrats on picking up one fun little car. I must say, you got one of the more rare SVTF's. I was looking for a comp orange myself with EAP but came across a good deal on my pitch black SVTF with 23,000 and snagged it. Enjoy the car and hang out on the boards often so that you can learn all you can about these fun little cars.
BTW, I see your from MD, I just moved across the line to PA but am very familiar with Maryland. Any specific location in case we ever bump into each other? See ya around maybe.
AdrenalineSVT 10-04-2005, 08:45 PM Thanks for the welcomes...
As far as owning two SVT's - it wasn't intentional. By that I mean I was not specifically looking at the SVT Focus when it came time to get a new daily driver... All I knew was that I wanted car that was small (but not cramped - had to be able to fit the family), manual trans., good on gas, preferably a hatchback (I like to be able to have the instant utility if need be), and not very expensive... I looked at many different cars - Civic, PT Cruiser, Matrix/Vibe, Focus, etc. But when I found this one - and sat in the leather Recaros [headbang] - I pretty much knew this was what I wanted. That and the fact that there was no way that I was going to find another car with as many features for the same price... This car has it all...
Then when I started doing my research (thanks in part to this forum), I found that the color/body style was pretty rare (1 of 66!) - which helped seal the deal...
This situation was very similar to when I bought my Lightning - there was just too much value and performance in comparison to what was available at the time... It was almost a no brainer...
So now I have the two SVT's - and without sounding conceded (that is not me at all), I must say that it is nice having them both... [:D]
As far as planned mods for the SVTF, the only things that I have thought of so far are the short shifter and the euro grill... Then again we all know how easily to mod bug can grab a hold of us and change everything... [;)]
I don't live too far from the MD/PA boarder either - we just might run into each other sometime... Anyone else from this area?
[cheers]
comporange03 10-04-2005, 11:16 PM welcome ..... live down in baltimore
DrPhibes 10-04-2005, 11:57 PM ^^I know how you feel...[hihi]
The circumstances were very much the same for me, wasn't looking this specific SVTF. In fact colorwise, it was near the bottom of my list but the price was really attractive. The color has definitely grown on me, and yeah the Recaros are pretty sweet. [headbang]
Personally, I think the yellow looks the best with the dark argent wheels.
Anyway, welcome to the forum and post some pics, would love to see the Lightning too.
...another of 66, except mine lives in SoCali... [8D]
jonrjen 10-05-2005, 10:51 AM Congrats on the new car. Perfect color. Can't beat the Screaming Yellow, then add the Black Recaros and well..........Perfect.
Now do yourself a favor, order a tune for it. It won't make it a race car, but it sure opens it up to a much more enjoyable day to day driver and fun toy. There are a few tuners here on site, I can recommend Wayne from personal experience. But I am sure others will have their own recommendations also.
Matter of fact I just ordered my Screaming Yellow short intake system from Wayne. Don't know if it will be any quicker than the chrome system under the hood, but the color Screaming Yellow, you bet will look good. Now I guess I will have a chrome system with less than 6,000 miles to sell on Ebay or something.
Again congratulations on the car.........go enjoy it!!
Carrera26 10-05-2005, 11:09 AM Read the sig! Go chase some cones and find out just how great your new car is!

It's not actually gonna be Screaming Yellow. I got mine Sunday and was dissapointed. It's just yellow. Not even close to Screaming Yellow.
gold_zx3 10-05-2005, 03:39 PM wow nice buy....im so jealous
jonrjen 10-05-2005, 04:49 PM NOW LOOK!! Wayne said they looked great and would add somewhere around 25 RWHP to the Front Wheels........minus what ever parasitic HP drag due to front to rear wheel transferance conversion occured. And after being converted from metric to ASE standards which then will be directly related in accordance with the conversion from the American dollar to the current rate of the EURO, this is of course because the Screaming Yellow is only avalible in the EURO EDITION.

First and foremost I apologize if the color wasnt a direct match. I would have appreciated it much more had you brought this to my attention privately so I could have taken care of the issue before bringing it into the open forum.
Now, with that said, I took the color list sheet directly from the local ford dealer, so the powder coater could match the color on it. The color that he used, was indeed the closest available color to the Screaming Yellow paint chip that I had in hand. I didnt have the paint chip for the finished product, as I had to return it to the dealer since the parts manager allowed me to "borrow" it from the main showroom display area.
If you would, will you take a high res digital pic in a GOOD light so I can take the pic with the elbow contrasted against the actual paint on your car, and take it to the powder coaters and SHOW him the difference, and see if we cant get the color match closer. I will of course replace the elbow with a better color match at no additional cost to you.
ScreaminSVT 10-05-2005, 06:33 PM I will take some pics tomorrow and post them up. I wasn't trying to get something started here. I'm very happy with the intake. It's not too loud and it makes me appreciate the DSI more now. I just wasn't happy with the color. I know you didn't spray it personally so I'm not bashing you. I paid for a Screaming Yellow one and I got a banana yellow one. I'm sorry I didn't pm you about it first I was just stating my opinion about it when I saw the other dude bought one. Maybe it was just mine I don't know. But, hopefully we can get it fixed.

There you have it.
AdrenalineSVT 10-11-2005, 06:31 PM Hmmm... I can see what you mean... That looks more like the standard Focus yellow...
Even though I haven't been here too long, I have read A LOT of posts on different forums for the SVTF... From what I can tell Wayne has always done the right things for his customers - I imagine this situation will be the same...
[cheers]
svt_gEEk 10-11-2005, 09:37 PM [welcome] I personally love the screamin' yellow [:D] glad you're liking it so far! I've had mine since Feb and am still loving it [:D]
SVTmonkey 10-12-2005, 10:19 AM I still haven't seen a yellow or orange SVTF in person...maybe they don't sell those in Canada? hmmm...
VAfromMN 10-17-2005, 04:12 AM I guess between the respondents we've now accounted for 3 of the 66 Screaming Yellow ZX5 SVTF's. I'm just over in Virginia, down in Fredericksburg. Commute to DC though!
