Anyone out there have the center exit borla exhaust? Kinda want to see some pics of it to see what it actually looks like on the vehicle. Thanks.

Awesome look if you ask me, one of the best SVT rear I've seen along with that guy that did the dual conversion with the diffuser. Beautiful system ya got there Mike! [thumb]

Sorry to hear that Chad, that black svt dual system looks pretty good.

Either/or but the center exit Borla is 'rare'.... your the only one I've seen on any focus site with it 'done properly'...... not including the saleen setups but that isn't Borla anyway (that I know of).

I know why its rare too, its way too expensive, lol Lightened my wallet up a good bit.

Yeah I bet..... what is just as rare is that center exit diffuser as I recall it was on a HUGE backorder in the past, damn near impossible to get.....

I like the look of the center exit in general on most cars, but the Borla center exit is too low IMHO. I'd be on it in a second if it was, say, centered in the middle of the diffuser. Just a matter of taste, I guess.

Have you seen one in person? The pics dont do it justice.

I've seen a center exit Magnaflow (custom work) on a Saleen rear and it was very very nice. I wish I could see your setup Mike......

No, unfortunately I haven't seen one in person. My own tastes would have something that sits more flush with the bottom of the diffuser so that it doesn't break up that line quite so much. I suppose one could modify the diffuser so the tip could come up a bit. I'd love to see one in person tho!

hey chad HOW DID U GET DUAL EXHAUST?? is that a kit or custom??

Which 'Chad' are you talking to? I'd 'NEVER' get a dual exhaust setup on a focus so not sure who your talking about.

I love the look of the dual exhaust on that focus. I know it's pointless to have dual exhaust on a 4 banger but it does look sweet. I'm not the biggest fan of the center exit, but it looks ok. That's just my opinion so don't take it personal....just not the look I would go for. There's probably things I'd like to do to my car that you wouldn't go for either, just a matter of taste [:)] It'd be boring if everybody did the same thing to their foci [:D]

I just upgraded my exhast system yesterday. I did a center exit exhaust with a magnaflow system using the center exit diffuser from ford racing and dual rolled square tip from Magnaflow. The shop that installed it made the custom mandrel bent pipe from the muffler back to the tip. Here's a link to a pic I just shot of it. Its raining and nasty out, but youll get the idea.

I just bought an 05 focus ST, I'm just curious where you found the dual exhaust...my guess is that its a dual exit CAT but still, it looks a whole lot better than a single. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks

b16sir1991

Im sure it just splits off behind the rear suspension. Any muffler shop should be able to do it.

Do they sell a dual exit cat for the focus?

Never seen one + there wouldnt be enough room under the car for all that piping.

the center exit looks pretty tight. the only problem is the like 90 degree bend at the end. that's not gonna help the flow.

Actually there isnt any true 90 degree bends with my center exit exhaust...... All focus exhaust systems have an almost 90 degee bend where the exhaust wraps around the rear seat floor board back to the muffler. In Reality a 90 degree mandrel bent pipe will cause little to no extra back pressure thus causing no change in the exhaust flow.

Heres a couple pics of mine, it doesnt make that hard of a bend and its mandrel bent.

Hey Mike, is there a mount (hanger) for the tip at the back? Just curious....... behind the diffuser?

I've been wanting to do this set-up for a while...But, I was going to go the cheap route, Stock exhaust w/ lunch box replaced w/ exhaust tubing extended and some nice dual tips welded in place - centered and tucked neatly w/ that center exit diffuser. I'll get around to it, sone enough.

there is a 2004 silver SVTF with borla center exit exhaust for sale on the used car lot at Huntington Ford in Rochester Michigan if anyone is interested.

Why do audi A4 1.8T's have dual exhaust? Don't they use the same 1.8L I4 as VW? Seems odd.

2004SVTAutoXer
11-11-2005, 07:01 AM
yes they do have the same 1.8t. marketing gimmick. If I ever get around to going turbo I'll definitely be trying to mock that dual exhaust setup with some kind of functional system

please just make sure it's reeeeally nicely tucked. nothing more embarassing than seeing v-dubs w/ "dtm exhausts" sticking up 20 inches from under the bumper

Why would audi put duals on the 1.8T though? Is only one funtional?

Spec3VR6
11-11-2005, 02:37 PM
its not a tru dual setup. just a y pipe setup. its more for looks. seems trendy now. VW and Audi exhausts are particularly restrictive, upgrading always gives a much needed bump in power for those motors. It is functional tho

putting dual exhaust on a 4-cylinder just isnt right..

y-pipe or no y-pipe

never cared for the center exit until right now that blue svt looks great

i don't see why putting a dual exhaust is so bad on a turbo 4 cyl? if it's done properly how is it any different to putting a pipe 3" in diameter all the way through like most turbos need

TBwithaSVT
11-20-2005, 08:52 PM
any one kno of a website i could find a y pipe that fits an svt focus
