Well I fell off the face of the earth from this site. I am looking at going to a dragstrip that is opened up in Norwalk, OHIO Oct. 22. I have done nothing to my 2003 Svt. I looking maybe to get a ORP and CAI, which will be taken off if ever going to the shop to get worked on.. I am looking for input on what is out there that ppls like and where to buy them from, at the best price. I now drive the car 45 miles one way to work, so I will like the faster gettie up and go since most is all Highway. anywhere from 55-75 unless I want to get around somebody getting 30 miles to gallon.
Is this a good upgrade that I will want or is something else out there that I want to go in that direction. I would like to bolt it on for this event so I atleast have a bit of a better chance.
what is the suggested time on a stock SVT Foci??
Any info will be nice.

I've got a hi-flow cat and a CAI on my commuter car, both parts are definitely worth the money. Real noticeable mods, especially at highway speeds. Plus it sounds great. [thumb]

I would go with the hi-flow cat over an ORP, supposed to be a bit better at low end, plus the legal factor.

Thanks Dion

www.c-f-m.com is awesome! I've gotten all of my mods from them, and they do great deals...sometimes, you can buy 'bundle' mods in which they throw two or three mods together and drastically lower the overall price for the package...

I would definitely agree with getting a HFC over the ORP...lots of reasons that have been fought over on this forum.

The intake is a good idea as our SVTf stock boxes are pretty darn restrictive...I have a K&N Typhoon and I love it.

Alot of SVTf owners have also done the VF Rear Mount/FR Short Throw Shifter combo that greatly enhances the driveablity of our cars!

Alrighty dude,

Yea, I would say go with AEM or K&N CAI, short shifter, etc. But I am pretty sure you can't expect 30 mpg. Especially if you are like most of us and can't keep your foot out of it.

the one thing that has not been mentioned that you might want to consider as well is a tune

well as any mods what you end up in the end is what you get. when I drive in town and have a bad lead foot it goes to 19 mpg and on the highway I have seen 38 mpg on 2 trips.
I am glad to see that ppl still reply thank you for the feed back.

dgualtie what are you meaning a chip?

he means a tune. You can get them through tom @focuspower or wayne at hypnotic auto (depending on what brand you want). You can also install a larger throttle body and the performance ignition kit. All are available at www.myfordfocus.com

Isn't there also a YRF0 flash that you can get from the dealership for free? I haven't looked much into it myself (having a SE and all) but I've read posts about it and how it's such a great upgrade. Can anyone else shine some light on the YRF0 flash?

Cheers!
