: Sad day in my world
Onlyford4me 09-14-2005, 08:49 AM I tried to order the JRSC and unfortunately they were all out because JR is revising their kit and all kits are on backorder as of now. I knew it was happening, but I thought that it wasn't until October. Well...I've waited three months already, what's another few weeks.
JohnMichael 09-14-2005, 08:55 AM Well...just save up in the process so you won't be as broke when you install the thing! [;)]
PapoSwing 09-14-2005, 08:56 AM ^^^ what he said! Patience son, patience.....
dgualtie 09-14-2005, 09:32 AM you may have to wait for it but it is worth the wait. until then i am agreeing by saying save your money so that way you wont be as broke when you install it
svt#1960 09-14-2005, 04:39 PM I think the revision is for and actual tune instead of the sorry black box so you might want to wait anyway.
focusonthefocus 09-15-2005, 01:25 AM save up for Tom's turbo!
Onlyford4me 09-15-2005, 07:41 AM I'm buying the BBK with it, so I won't need the black box. They don't have any in stock right now. I want the tune with it and if they are making it better it's worth the wait. I think i've made up my mind on the supercharger. The power is there constantly and it's good for around town driving. I'm not looking for crazy horsepower, just a good little boost that's always there. I do realize that Tom's turbo kit is awsome. I've heard nothing but good things about his kit.

JRSC BBK=$2,800.00
Toms stage one with tuning=$4,800
Discord 09-15-2005, 01:29 PM For the $ to power gains from the JR for us non SVTF owners, there is no way I could drop the cash on it.
Procharger...3200 bones.
justjeffrey 09-20-2005, 01:38 PM But Procharger is not going for CARB approval. No biggie to most folks but i live in So-Cal where the pigs will take your ride for running a frickin' loud exhaust. It happens...
Anyway Onlyford4me,
Put that shit on backorder 'cause when they come in, JR will have preorders stacked up for delivery. Yes, they cut out their dealers but those guys are still placing orders as if nothing changed. So you know Jegs and Summit and all those other web only fuc&* out there are going to have PO's ready for those limited kits. Thats just the rumor over there.
You can tell a JR saleman to contact you before they ship you the supercharger so you know when you will be billed for the cash. They are good about that. Once you place an order at Jackson Racing, you have a personal account contact for ever. Call that guy and only that guy from now on. They might not have ALL the answers over the phone, but they will get you what you need- no doubt.
Just my 2c.
Onlyford4me 09-20-2005, 03:52 PM Thanks for the info. I think I will get it on backorder. I too need to worry about the legality of it. I'll be moving back up to New York in a couple years and they are pretty strict also.
microtonal 09-20-2005, 03:58 PM Well, now you can get the JRSC+BBK(Big Boost Kit) for the same price most venders were selling the JRSC alone.
For $2800, you now get tuning too and free shipping.
I just hope they ship in October because it's getting cold outside and I want to get this done before old man Winter hit my door step.
viney266 09-21-2005, 12:03 AM Yeah, if they are updating it, as you said, just wait and get the better version anyway.
Onlyford4me 09-21-2005, 07:56 AM It's ordered now. These people were very friendly. After I was done ordering it, Steve went and found out that they were getting the kits ready to ship to Ford now and that the first week of October is when they will be back to ship out to customers. I was pretty happy when i found out about the free shipping also. I hear you on that old man winter creeping at the door.
DareDevil03 09-22-2005, 01:04 PM Why worry about winter? If you have a garage and a space heater, you'll be fine doing the install. [thumb] Trust me, I used to live in Indiana before So-cal. Good Luck with the kit.
Onlyford4me 09-23-2005, 09:19 AM Actually I don't have a garage :) I wish I did. I live in apartments where I just park in a parking lot. I'm sure I won't have too much trouble installing this kit. I went to the Jackson Racing website and looked at the instructions. They look pretty clear cut.
microtonal 09-23-2005, 10:40 AM Just read the instructions thoroughly(several times) and make notes or even highlight some items.
I notice something like, remove passenger side wheel splash guard to access the pullies is not in detail. They just tell you to do it. I believe there are other items like that too.
I think that's why they recommend that you get the Shop Manual.
Don't be caught off guard while you're doing the install.
You might also want to pick up a good size 15mm wrench for the tensioner pully.
Onlyford4me 09-24-2005, 07:06 AM Yeah, I've already looked at taking the wheel splash guard off. I was thinking about getting an UDP and looked at how to take that off. I'm sure I have all the tools required. I do believe that I should read them over again also so nothing really suprises me.

I can't speak for anyone else, BUT I did have the JRSC m45 on my 02zx5...I was totally disappointed....took it back off and sold the car, sold theSC to some kid out of mich for 1500. Then bought an SVTF and took it to Tom for his turbo....AWESOME difference, NO comparison.
It can't be about the money.
Onlyford4me 09-24-2005, 01:10 PM When I talked to the guy at JR, he said that the old standard kit only produced roughly 5 lbs of boost. In that case I would see why you were dissappointed with the old kit. The new standard kit is supposed to give you 7 lbs of boost. He wasn't sure on the kit when you add the BBK because they are getting a new tune as well. I would assume that it would give you somewhere around 9 lbs. I'm not looking for more than 10 lbs of boost so that's why i'm getting this kit. I'm not knocking turbo's-I'm sure they kick ass.
microtonal 09-24-2005, 04:10 PM Another thing I should mention is the JRSC comes with a belt for an AC equipped engine.
If you have no AC, I was told to use a 98" belt with the BBK using the new belt routing.
The 98" belt also assumes you've bought the JRSC recently or recently bought the new JRSC+BBK that comes with a new style alternator bracket.

I just gave Moss Motors/JR a call and if you have already placed your JRSC+BBK order, they should start shipping around Oct.17 - Oct.21 if all goes as expected with production.
Onlyford4me 10-05-2005, 12:18 PM Let's just hope everything goes well with production.
focusonthefocus 10-05-2005, 03:00 PM good luck!
microtonal 10-05-2005, 04:34 PM I hope it ships on time because the cold weather is already starting.
Even in a garage, it gets cold up here.
Onlyford4me 10-07-2005, 01:23 PM I hear that. I just found out that i have to leave for three weeks again. It looks like its not going on until November now. One question though, when i send my ecu back, do I also tell them about my other mods ie exhaust mods and intake?
microtonal 10-07-2005, 01:36 PM If you go to www.fordracingparts.com and search for the BBK,
you can download the install instructions and they ask for the following when you send the ECU back for reprogramming.
VIN
ECU Code
Transmission type
Tire size
Final Drive ratio for tranny(4.06 for stock)
They don't ask about mods but the ECU can adjust for intakes, exhaust and other bolt on's.
If you have aftermarket Cams, Cam Gears tuned or other internal engine mods, you may want to give them a call.
Also, if you have a UDP, you'll need to install the stock crank pully.
