Still using the stock tune, which is running really rich (high 10s) from 4500RPMs on. I got a maximum boost of 9.2PSI, and I ended up with 247.1whp @ 6700RPMs, and 199wtq @ 5600RPMs. Mods are MBRP 2.5" SVT exhaust, Focus Central 2.25" Flex, Focus Central 4-2-1 race header, Kent cam gears, Prototype Colt Cam supercharger grind cams. I'm running Royal Purple 5w30 synthetic oil, and 94 octane gas. I think I may be the highest HP Powerworks car to date.

Interesteing and very nice. I recall the PW folks speaking of having to "tune around" things like race headers, etc. Very nice work!

Agreed, what are these cams you speak of?

They're made by colt cams based out in Vancouver. The maker of these cams has helped Ford Racing design their cams for a while. As far as specs go, I'm not authorized to publish that information. ZX3tuning has exclusive rights to these cams, and seeing as they were a complete success info will probably be made public shortly. Also, I believe that a prototype turbo cam is in the works, but this is all second hand information and should be taken with a grain of salt. Mitch at ZX3tuning would be a far better person to ask about these cams. To compare, he has a nearly identical set-up to me and only made 218hp and 185tq from what I recall.

Do you have before and after Dynos of these cams to base something off of

I like how you mention he only did 218hp and 186tq.[rolleyes]

No my car did not have these cams in it!

the cams are made by Colt Cams based out of Langley BC exclusively for ZX3tuning as a colaberation between Colt and ZX3tuning. these are our "HOT" Prototype SC grind and we have another set with slightly different specs that will go into testing soon on my car!

these cams are a complete 180 from conventional Cam thinking and we will not be disclosing any info on the specs of these cams untill they have been dialed in and more tuning is done. don't bother asking justin because only myself and the grinder know.

these cams were inplace on Justins car BEFORE we installed the PW kit as we wanted to see if there was a chance they could be used for a NA application aswell plus to propperly break them in. i'm not going to lie to you guys, they do show decent gains on an NA car but there are far better NA cams out there!

here is a layover of my car with Kam race header, a 2.5" complete exhaust with 2.5" high flow race cat and untuned cam gears over top of justins car...

the data file on justins run:
http://www.zx3tuning.com/images/pics/zx3tcamsdata.jpg

and the data on my car:
http://www.zx3tuning.com/images/pics/data01.jpg

sorry about the datafiles, it's 2 pages pasted together and my scanner likes to resize things so nothing lever lines up propperly.

once we retune justins car i have little doubt we will see OVER 270fwhp out of the PW kit WITHOUT ANY BOOST UPGRADES!!

congrats to justin, i'm very happy the cams worked as well as they did!

That's fantastic!

Good luck! I suspect a lot of people are looking forward to seeing the results.

we are very happy with the results. both cars will be hitting the dyno again very soon for a serious retune. there is a ton of room to play with these cars and we do not plan on sitting on our hands.

Nice numbers guys.. Just curious

Have you done any testing with intake temeratures before and after the innercooler on the car??? I am really curious as to how well that cooler works?

When Mitch took his on the dyno and did some datalogging, he came up with this:
IATs were between 95 and 125 on every run! we soaked the FMIC and let the car idle for a while betwen runs and saw an entire pull between 95-110 on my raptor!

It's not quite what you were looking for, but it's something. I'm sure the IATs before the intercooler would be similar to that of an SVT JRSC.

Pooper charged?? what's that about HAHAHA

EnigmaZV

VCT? This isn't an SVT, it's a regular ZX3. And Microtonal, why didn't you come to the dyno day on saturday? You could have witnessed the beast run in person! And the pooper charged comment was because Kinetic (the place where the dyno day happened) deals mainly with turbos.

^^^ oops. My fault. I seen the high HP numbers and thought that you had the new SVTF Powerworks. Highest I seen on the Zetec powerworks was 231HP/188TQ.
Damn, this is VERY good for the Zetec Powerworks.

EnigmaZV

:D That'd be the new prototype cams, hard at work! Once I get the thing re-tuned, I should be looking at roughly 270hp.
