I'm am new to the focus Community, and basically i just wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions, i own 4-dr sedan white. my real question, is if any of you have heard of the "V8 Coversion" for the focus, and wether you know any info on aquiring that mod in state, if you have any exprience in stalling that mod and where you purchased the engine for the bolt on kit. any response would be welcome thanx [:D]

But what about the skill level required? has any one done this down south, and if so what kind of cost am i looking at it i decide to do this myself, do i need to try and do the front wheel to rear wheel drive conversion or not? and i tryed emailing them i guess ther email is down or something.

if you buy a uses 302 5.0 engine and tranny, you'll save yourself a bunch of money. but this whole project is very tedious and expensive even with a used engine and tranny. With the kugel komponents mounting kit and hardware and used engine/tranny, you're lookin to spend about $10k. and that's not even getting into the suspension. as far as skill level and mechanical ingenuity, you're gonna have to be pretty skilled. there's welding involved. It's estimated that it will take about 100 man hours to do the conversion.

sucky, well really i can get the parts it's just finding someone to perform the mod and not charge me 10k for it,

good luck. its a neat swap, but nowhere near worth it when you can have a built, boosted four cylinder that will have no problems for one tenth the cost.

i'd rather have a built and boosted V8 rather than a built and boosted I4

if you put the v8 in there you wont have room to boost it. and theres nio point anyway unless you just want to go in a straight line for the rest of your life.

You refer to Jerry Kugel(the originator of the V8 focus) the artticle he published on the car and his website both refer the the fact that even with a Modular 4.6L V8 in there there is still more than enough room for TT's or a super, so you were saying?

the v8 has better weight dist then our foci so has is that you would be going straight for the rest of your life?

and yes...with the modular 4.6 there is room, but you will need a pump from the turbo's because its not the best location.

i was going to do this swap way back when...but stuck with the n/a route/built motor. its not worth the time and money. not only would you need another car but the cash for parts is in demand constantly

i know thats why i'm not going to do it, if i had the money i would, but i don't and i don't feel like saving up

instead i'm doing the convo from focus factory using a 3.0L v6 muhc cheaper and plenty of room left
