tom just want to know if a standard zx3 tranny will bolt up to the svt. myabe im wrong but i imagine it would be better for draging and probably weighs less.

Why would you put a ZX3 tranny in an SVT? Wouldnt you rather rather have 6 speeds than 5?

i could be wrong but there should be more power with a 5 speed than a 6. thats prolly why.

the six speed is heavier and the gearing is horrible for drag. 1st gear is long as crap. tom have you tried this yet

the six speed isn't much heavier than the 5 speed. the gearing is crap though for straight line. the gearing also causes the svt to pull a higher rpm at highway cruising speed than the 5 speed. if you want a straight line car, you want the five speed, or an auto. if you want a fun road race/autox car, stick with the 6.

I have my turbo kit on a ZX3 and my SVT , i wouldnt change for the Diff or even think about it

The only time the 6sp isnt up to what the 5sp is is on take off , you can allways use a smaller tire to make up for some of the gearing

but can it be done. i have no desire to auto x (yet).

I cannot think why it couldnt be done other than the SVT has a Diff crank trigger than the ZX3 and you will have to have something done about that
