We did my sons S2 with nothing more than a jrsc and a few other bolt ons and the atx let go after appx 10k miles. Keep in mind that we bought this car new and had never abused it even after the install. Yes it was run, but never drivin like he stole it. I wouldnt do it. We did the mtx 75 swap after that.

how hard and expensive was the mtx 75 swap?

Well, it wasent as bad as you would think, but if you have to pay someone to do it for you, thats when it gets more expensive. I work for Ford and did it myself, but just recently this topic has come a couple times and i have checked to see how much our sources can get all the parts for. It would be appx $1100 for all the parts to do it. Its pretty extensive as far as swaps go for you to try it on your own, but if you ever try it, you can always contact me and ill help you through it.

if i do have this done will it be just like a factory setup or will i have to buy special clutch parts for replacement? coul an svt 6 fit or would that be pushing it?

Everyone says that you lose about 30 percent going to automatic. Does that mean that a person would get a 30 percent in power switching to a mtx. Also would I have to get a diff. aftermarket t/b and all that? How bout an ecu retune and SCT reflash???

Swaps are do-able obviously, but I'm still a believer that it's simply a much better idea to go with a performance transmission as opposed to a MTX swap. Shifting is fun, I love MTX's, but if you're starting with an auto, may as well get a nice performance tranny. Keep in mind in a swap you're still paying all that money for a stock transmission, and very likely a used one...not worth the money IMO when you can drop $1300-2000 and get a brand new performance transmission.

right now i have a turbo on my automatic and it s great so much power, and i know it wont last to the hp, but im gonna wait till it goes then swap with the mtx 75 that i have. i need a few misc. parts here and there but i can do most if not all the work my self.

V6focus has done a couple of v6 swaps into foci. The 2.5 he has almost looks like a factory engine. PM him if you like.

i have my focus super charged,it makes 210hp at the crank.but its an autotragic.i drive it like it stolen all the time, and rev it to 6800 rpm every time i hit the gas. i put the charger on at 86k and it has 138k now. the trany held up well till now, my 3 gear clutches are starting to slip....but at the amount of hp i have i think gettin 52k out of it is pretty good.

Im gonna turbocharge my ATX pretty soon. ( I hope). I was looking at the presicion turbo and engine turbo kit.
Here's a Pic of it:

http://www.precisionturbo.net/ART/products/101795/EngineStand.jpg

Ford Focus Turbo Kit includes:
Garrett GT-28R Turbo, Air-to-Air Intercooler, Custom Exhaust Manifold, Cast 75mm Mass Air, 33lb/hr Injectors, Calibrated ECU Chip and installation hardware

Initial dyno tests have shown that use of this kit will produce 225-HP at the front wheels on a typical stick shift Focus with 87-octane fuel. Cars with automatic transmissions produced 187-HP. Higher octane fuel and additional tuning will produce even greater results.

For 2001-2002 Ford Focus 2.0 Zetec Only.

It's either that or a Vortech Supercharger or most probable a Custom Turbo Kit.( Get the parts my self separately and mount them.) I like that turbokit but Im still making up my mind although you gotta admit it looks pretty damn good. And Ive heard a lot of thing about it. It does run for $3995 so I still gotta seriously think it over. The kit is very complete but those numbers make it hard.

I also have a very nice turbo kit for the Focus same and more power than any kit on the market and also comes complete

Hmmm.......Impressive turbo kit Tom. Im gonna have to consider it also. You give any discount to focus fanatics members. I like the fact that it can reach 320 whp. That would make my ATX run in a way I never imagined. Definately gonna have to think it good now.
