Glad I have my focus, otherwise I'd be walking. My upper left arm is tye dyed, my left knee is sore, but I'm in once piece..I think they'll total my bike. [?|] [?|] [?|] [?|] [?|]

that really sucks, i know that you really liked your bike. what happened?
07-10-2005, 12:48 AM
Slick pavement, narrow road, bike go boom...schtuff happens, even to people with 18+yrs riding experience.
07-10-2005, 01:00 AM
R.I.P. kieth's bike.
07-10-2005, 07:16 PM
sorry to hear that and its a good thing your ok.

One thing new riders are told, is "It's not IF you are gonna go down, it's WHEN", no matter how long you ride, its going to be true...this is the first time in 18yrs riding that I've totaled a bike, though we'll see what the dealer says..maybe it'll just look like new when I get it back.

oOoO its a big scooter sucks u wrecked it must not be too bad if u drove it afterwards
07-11-2005, 11:08 AM
that sucks did you go through the barb wire fence? hope your ok
07-11-2005, 11:51 AM
I was stuck to the barbed wire, had to take my jacket off to even get up..but if I'd been wearing squidware (shorts,flipflops,noshirt/muscle shirt, and sunglasses) I'd have been careflighted out.

squidgear [:)] a friend of mine told me that he is getting a crotch rocket and i laughed at him. hes dangerous to be around in a car, he'll kill himself on a bike, and i know how too. he'll be riding on someones ass like he does in his car, they will break, he wont, and over/into thier car he will go...
07-11-2005, 02:04 PM
well its good your smart enough to wear the right kinda riding gear
so did you climb on top and ride it untill you stuck to the fence[eek]
07-11-2005, 02:09 PM
I don't know anything about bikes... is that really bad enought to total? It doesn't look too bad in the pics but I might be looking right past something.
It's gonna sound wierd, but congrats on walking away from that! And having the sense to wear the right gear. I've never heard the term "squid gear" before, but I'm familiar with "donor cycle"...

No surfing this one for me, rode it until it was too late, then BAM. [thumb]
I've been riding long enough to have been down a couple times, and know how much it hurts. Riding without full gear, is just stupid, but that is always a personal choice. I'm damned lucky to have walked away, let alone ride 100 or more miles home on the same bike.
The damage you can't see much is that the gas tank has a dent big enough for a big fist, all the body work on the bike save for one side panel, are toast, all the frame/support brackets, possibly the front end (forks and all) may be toast, and I think the front wheel will have to be replaced.

mine since yesterday:
76 honda cb400 four in superb condition
07-11-2005, 03:34 PM

wants 4k for? don't know if its worth it or not I dont know much about bikes, showed him your
pics and he offered
07-11-2005, 03:59 PM
Glad your alright....
that's the most important thing right there

07-14-2005, 11:24 AM
thats a good looking bike, have they totaled yours?
07-14-2005, 01:24 PM
Yep, sad as it is, the damage bill was only $800 less than I paid for the bike a couple years back.
