the place tuning it "speed dreams" a local diablo tuner is having problems.

It appears that the car is running lean which is causing the ecu to run the engine pig rich. So even though the engine is running really rich the ecu still thinks its lean and applies more fuel

im using a lightning maf, #42 injectors, log manifold, super 60 turbo, saab sidemount ic, built engine with 9-1 compression

They claim its because the primary o2 is located in the downpipe, and it needs to be in the header. They also blame the maf, because i cut the 2 outer wires and relocated the IAT sensor to the charge pipe. They are trying to tune it with diablo software and the cost is getting ridiculous. They first thought my 02 was burned out and so they replaced it and happily charged me, which did nothing.

The car will idle but it pours out light black exhaust and it will not rev, it dies afer about 3 min of idle.

I'm not a pro but it sounds like MAF transfer functions.

if you find out its something with the MAF post what it is, i was also going to use the lightning maf cause i figured its already calibrated for 42#'s

When they loaded your program did they pull fuze #46 and 61?[8D]

why would pulling out the fuses do anything?

Im thinking about just going with a blow through

You think you got problems now, trying to do a blow-thru will probably just be more troubles for them. It can deff be done, but by the sounds of your shop, if they can't do a draw thru, a blow thru will be hopeless.

The 02 needs to be in the dow pipe

If the engine is lean the ECU isnt going to do anything to richen it up , the Focus does not have a AF built in ,it only has the target fuel that has been put in the fuel maps by the tuner

Loose the lightning MAF there aewfull big but still isnt your problem

I would loose the tuner,

Tom, what do you charge for a custom burned mailorder chip? I live in New Brunswick, Canada and have no shops around my area.

Mail order chips are just to hard to do , look into the SCT ProRacer this will give you the ability to do all the tuning

Does any one have an idea of what can I do to improve my ible with SCTpro?, I been banging the wall on thet quite a bit and I'm getting tired, everything else from 2500rpm up I got it right but that is became a pain in the ass.

I have a very hard time to make idle correctly, to begin with I've got oversized valves, FRIII cams, custom sheet metal intake manifold, the MAf is too close to the throttle body 'd say (10"), 65 mm throttle body. been try to set the failed maf function, didn't quite got it, normal maf readings looks like it's got some backflow at certain TP angle, I set it to idle at around 900rpm and it does but when shift to neutral and and driving it does not idel it dies stumbles down.
