Okay, so I'm new but finally figured out who Tom is.

Here's my question. I have decided turbo over supercharger but can't get a fix on the right choice. I live in San Francisco which is a long way from SC or MD. Oh yeah, there's that CA smog concern as well[rolleyes] .

I would like to get at least 200hp to the wheels [:D] I've been looking at Tom's website along with McNeils and FocusSport. Obviously whatever I buy is going to have to be installed locally.

Any suggestions?

i've heard tom's stg 1 is a good way to start, and it's easily upgradeable.

FS doesnt have a turbo so it comes down to the focus-power or the roush

My opinion is the focus-power kit but neither are CARB legal so i know you have to think about that

The only supercharger kit putting out close to what you want is the PowerWorks
Cosworth unit available from FocusSport. I'm sure they can install it for you. This kit has the potential for more power with a smaller pulley, but no one has done that yet, as the kit is pretty new, and very few are actually running. The PW sc will not put down the numbers Tom's full kit will though. Tom's full kit has the capacity for major numbers out of the box. If this is what you are after, figure in the cost of a beefier low end to handle it.

I found super charger installs to be fairly ...... umm whats the word? There all the same idea but I seriosly find s/c harder to install then a turbo kit.

Turbo setups are all pretty much the same layout and the abilty to upgrade is always there.

The power works kit does make nice #'s but have you seen the install manual. I got one sitting here and YIKES!!! The ProCharger is by far the easiest s/c to install.

The power works sc is suppose to be carb legal...it is for a zetec only so far though so hopefully you have a zetec (too lazy to check)

powerworks is CARB legal ... and FocusSport would be happy to install one for you.
