Well today i traded in my saab 9-5 turbo and decided to buy me an eggshell yellow 2005 zx3 and it has the 2.0 liter engine in. My question, is it a Zetec or is it a Duramax or what, i am not totally sure anf feel stupid asking.

i think all the 2005 models come with the 2.0 duratech model

Yep all 05 are Duratechs. However there is the 2.0 or 2.3 liter.
And among the 2.0 you have the normal or green state PZEV with a HP drop.
Yup. Plus, Duramax is GM diesel engine. We have the Duratec. [;)]

Yup yup, looks like the normal D20 (2.0 Duratec) for you, being in NC... meaning no special emissions equipment that saps a few horsies.
Welcome to FF! Oh and now you posted below me, CAI is an awesome mod for this engine![thumb]

yes u do have a point, i am not sure if i would want or could even fit a big old deisel duramax engine under the hood of my focus. I do like my new focus even tho i have only had it for about 5 hours. Its a lovely yellow colour and of course, a 5 speed. It drives really nice tho, i never did expect to ev er own a ford as i had a bad expeience with a work vehicle which was an old rusting escort station wagon. But i am impressed by my focus. I will be modding starting tomorrow, starting with a CAI

i normaly work on my imports, currently i have a 95 300zx twin turbo which i have almost finished rebuilding after an accident, i also have a 79 mazda rx7 (god i hate rotory engines) lol so i am looking forward to working on a domestic, it makes a nice change and its also nice that so many people out there make parts for these cars and not just hondas with 10 foot tall wings on and empty coffee cans as mufflers.

Haha, yeah we're not big fans of 10ft wings and Maxwell House over here[;)]
An old RX7 eh? My brother just Loves those, considering he's never owned one...

ths 79 rx7 is a carburated one, and its pretty tricky and has to be spot-n when it coems to timing and fuel psi etc. wish i had never started it, but the body is just so perfect and straight for a 79, it would be a crime to scrap it.

Yeah, I like the yellow. But I just got rid of a 73 Beetle that was nce and yellow. Don't know if I will get another yellow car for a while.
But welcome and have fun modding your car. I haven't had the money to do so to mine yet.
