I walk out to my brand new car to find a small dent on the rear passanger fender!! WTF[?|] I called the dealer to see if they can fix it or if I should take it to a body shop. (Left a message with my salesman.)

I would be less mad if it was a couple months down the road, but 4 days?!?! cmon

What do you guys think is in my future?[:(]

d'oh! That sucks, man....I went about 6 months before my first ding. I was able to pull it out with one of those "Ding King" things, though. I wrote a review in this forum about it.

Good luck, and at least the first dent is already done and over with!

Bummer....Paintless Dent Repair is the way to go.

I'd try out the Ding King (only like $10) and if it doesn't work go for Paintless Dent Repair, if you can't live with the dent.

I doubt very much the dealer will be able to do anything for you, unless it's a huge dealer that could eat the cost of a small repair they're not responsible for just to keep its customers very happy... possible, but unlikely ya know?

Bummer about the dent though, I know my car has 2 little ones and they drive me nuts knowing they're there... not bad for almost 2 years though I suppose.

yeah, I was real mad when we had a major hail storm a month after I bought my car, but I still haven't gotten around to getting it fixed. I've got the check and estimate from the insurance agency sitting in my glove box, but I'm lazy and I work all the time, if that makes sense.

just to warn you, PDR places are the best, but they are usually not cheap (depending on how much competition is in the area)

My door ding (which I was able to remove myself) was going to cost me $110 at a PDR place to get fixed.

I dunno, I just dont feel comfortable gluing something to my car and then ripping it off hoping that I pull a dent out. Id rather it be done professionally. Im getting back insurance money from an accident I had in my last car, so thatl pay for it. you think I can get it back to its previous immaculate state by throwing money at it??[rolleyes] [:)]

I bought mine used and there are a couple of dents and I really don't care. It's just a Focus afterall. It's like a plate. The only way to keep it perfect is to not use it.

i've got a few in the sides of my car (people being careless with carts when i'm at work) and have yet to get them taken care of, mainly because i've been busy with school and whatnot, but plan on taking care of them this weekend/next week. i'm going to try the ding king, and if that doesn't work, i'll just take it to the place we got my mom's car taken care of. good luck with yours.

When I bought my car, I personall put the first scratch on it myself. Took the key to the bottom edge of the door, about 2cm long. I didn't want to hate on a faceless bastard for scatching my car first.
I know it's there and I know how it happened. It gives me a stange piece of mind...

Years and years ago, before biking was very popular, I had a friend who got "into" it. After a while, he wanted to get a really high quality, lightweight bike to ride to work and around the Campus. He bought a Gitane, which was quite high-end at the time (1970s) and paid around $600 in 1973 dollars.

The first thing he did was to take a pliers and scratch the tubing pint and other painted surface up badly. I asked him if he was carazy and he replied, "I bought this bike for it's perfomance and to ride. I have no intention of selling it and will ride it for years until it falls apart. The cosmetic damage does not affect it's performance or my enjoyment of it one bit. However, looking like this the probability of someone stealing it, and me losing it as a result, is much lower if it looks bad."

I couldn't argue with his logic, but it still seemed rather odd to me.

"Yo, its got a dent in it, let go find another one to steal." Hahaha...

Leeroy is going in Wednesday to get fixed up! PDR for the win [:D]

Paintless dent repair works.

I went to purchase/pickup a new 2005 ZXW on saturday and inspecting it before doing the deal, I found two very noticeable "door dents" in the rear door... you know, the type with a vertical line/crease which happens when an opening car door next to the car hits it. I told they guy the deal was off, but he said he would have his paintless dent guy come in Monday morning and then I could inspect it and decide.

Well, I came back Monday afternoon and, if I hadn't know the dent was there, I wouldn't have been able to see anything. Knowing here the dent was, if I looked ver, very, very closely, I could see an extremely small sort of 1/8" irregularity in the paint at the spot, but it almost took a magnifying glass to see it.

I was impressed as I wouldn't have thought it possible to take the dent out since it had a bit of a crease in it.

So I bought the ZXW.
