Hi Folks,

I have a new issue with my '02 SVTF. As of this past Saturday, I have discovered a sound coming from the front of my car. I myself (being a possible 2 out of 10 in 'under the hood' knowledge) was unable to pinpoint the issue. I took it to the local ford dealer hoping my extended warranty would cover, but I shoulda known they wouldn't. The guy at the Ford place said that a pin of some sort in my intake system has snapped or broken. In order to stop the noise (which is a steady rhythm'd sound almost sounding familiar to the sound you hear when the car is having issues starting) they would have to replace the whole intake system. And of course they want to charge me my life savings ($900+) to do this. So now for my question, I've been going through some of the threads for intake setups and have found that I think I might buy the Steeda short ram intake...is there more to the intake under the hood than just this? As in, if I buy this and get it installed, and the problem was indeed some sorta pin in my intake, is this pretty much guaranteed to resolve my issue? I don't really know how much of what is under the hood is classified as "part of the intake" so that's why I'm slightly paranoid as to whether this will resolve my issue or not.

Any thoughts?
