Hey fellows (and ladies if there are any out there). Decided to sign up as a member after lurkin' for a couple months. From what I can tell this group seem like a good bunch of fellows. I'm currently in the military stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. I drive an '03 blk svt focus with the euro package. Fun car if I can get all of the bugs worked out of it. Recently had the clutch replaced and found a great dealership who is willing to do what they say.
Had a 95 ford contour SE a couple cars before the focus so I pretty much was born and raised on Fords.

welcome! looks like we have similar car histories. My most recent include a 94 mercury tracer, a 98 ford contour SE, and finally my 04 SVT.
This is a great place for info, and yes, there are ladies here [;)]

oops! musta' missed the lounge by one click. I'll pay more attention next time.
Glad to see the aftermarket is like it is for the focus. With the contour it took several years to even get a aftermarket intake. [???:)]
Regardless I will more than likely be hit and miss for the next couple of months as duty calls. When I'm back in town I'll drop a line and see if a meeting will fit in the schedule...

Welcome to some of our second homes!!!! Did the 95 have a four cylinder or six? Man loved that damn six cylinder. Too bad they made the water pumps crappy (or plastic for that fact). I can relate to the damn aftermarket, but it started to pick up when mercury came out with the cougar (cause it had the same engine, YES!!!). But every contour fan at least knows what KKM is (hopefully?!). If not, www.kustomz.com

Cool...up here in New York for the summer and our battalion commo. guys hooked us up with internet, so at least we will be able to send and recieve email.
Thanks for the the welcome. Seems to be a good bunch of folks' around here. Looking forward to the chatting back and forth.
To answer some questions, I had the 95 ford contour SE which had the V-6 (the non-SVT'ed version--even though people are now mixing and matching 3.0L blocks with SVT heads, upper and lower SVT intakes, etc....and getting great HP gains. In my opinion, a combination ford should have seriously explored instead of the 2.5L V-6). It was a good car with every option except traction control.
When I had the car KurtzKustoms were the first to come out with an aftermarket intake, which I was one of the first to buy LOL. There are few shops out there now who specialize in turbos and tuning. Vortech tried to make a supercharger for the car but with too many shaft problems they finally pulled product. Haven't research the vortech kit for the focus but it looks like it uses the shaft design as well...
The focus has been in the shop more times than the months I've owned it and I've had it for over a year. Slowly getting problems fixed. I had the clutch TSB preformed and the car drove like it did when it was new. Very happy with the outcome. Had the driver window track replaced, the wind shield was reseated, and the heat shield are a few which come to mind. I was on vacation and the shield came completely off the car. The new one they replaced the old one with started vibrating and had to be fixed. The car sputtered a few times in the morning like it was trying to die and twice died on me at a traffic light. All in all it sounds like I've had quite a few problems but It has given me more smiles than frowns.
I look forward to the meetings and get togethers you guys have.
