I was at a car audio/wheels show and sale last weekend, and a guy there from the tire company pretty much told me that I could put volvo S40 rims on the focus and not much else because of the bolt pattern. what else fits on a focus, i know theres gotta be a LOT more
The VOLVO S40 is a 5 lug design, not 4 like the focus. Do a SEARCH on the forums here as there is a big list somewhere of other cars with the same offset as the focus.

the 2005 S40's are 5 lug....
the pre-2005 S40's use a 4x114.3mm lug pattern, we use a 4x108mm lug pattern which is the same as the Mystique/ Contour/ Couger as well as many early 90's Audi's
for 17" rims the ideal offset is 42mm to 49mm ( a 40mm will work but may have some rubbing issues if you are lowered much more than 1 1/2" )
