they are not governed, they are drag limited meaning they just cant push themselves anymore. Top speed is probably somewhere about 140 or so, i have had mine w/ my mods, intake,TB and tune to 135 and it was still going pretty good.

At Atlanta Speedway, SVTOA event a couple of years ago, an SVTF with an AEM CAI, and exhaust hit 142 verified.
I have heard of faster, but I would hope not on public roads. [8]

The speeds these cars can do stock will probably get you something more than a ticket [;)]
I've done 135 on a stock car at 6,320 feet or so in altitude more than a few times. I've used the digital speedometer and a GPS to measure the speed with. I went out for a run with the mods that I have now but had to abort on that when I passed the law doing 115. All of my speed runs are on a relatively flat high visibility road with little to no traffic. The needle on my gauge has hit 145 before but I haven't checked into how accurate it is. I'm also told the car pulls harder down at near sea level where it is now while I'm overseas so maybe it has more in it still.
