Hello Tom.
I've come to the decision to go ahead and go for your tune this next month. I do however have a question. If I do install a short ram intake, will I see much better gains from your tune? Would save more just doing your tune with the stock airbox? Any information would be greatly appreciated to be as informed about this future purchase as possible.
For your information, I drive a 2003 SVT 5 door focus. I currently have a Borla Catback installed along with a k&n drop in filter.
Thanks

I bought Tom's tune 3 weeks ago and I have a Steed intake and the tune loves the intake just fine. I couldn't be any happier( well other than FI) Yuo will not believe the difference between stock and tuned, oh yeah and the intake souns very aggressive not like the hi-pitched "vtec" crap either.

With your new tune, how are your highway pulls in third gear? I was definitely looking into a larger difference running on the highway. I'm hoping the tune really adds to this.

really good, but more suprisingly is that 4th on the highway is nuts!! for a motor this size 4th will pull you into the seat :)

I just wanted to know if based on the tune and what other customers you have gotten. which type of intake will best compliment your tune? Will the short ram or CAI perform better, if not, then I would ask if I am just better off with the stock air box and a K&N drop in filter? This will have to hold me until I can save up money for a turbo system. I just want to know if the intake will be worth the money since I know the tune will do so much for me already.
Thanks

If you are going to go turbo than do the drop in and you will be fine

Well, now that I've paid off the borla on my credit card. (Got it and installed it last month.) I am really thinking of grabbing the tune next for sure. Unfortunately, FI is looking to be an unreasonable project to undertake with my funds at the moment. (I'm in college and most of my money goes to paying off the car and making sure it is properly maintained.) So will the tune work best with a cold air intake or a short ram. I know the short ram will hold better ease in installation, but I would like to know if the effects of heat soak are greatly felt with short rams on the SVT given that you leave the stock snorkel on?
