: I want to sell my Focus
PrettyinPink23 05-10-2005, 06:27 PM I've been thinking about it and I'm definitely wanting a different car. The focus is good, but I want something better. I still owe about $8,000 (yea, I know. a lot) though so I would have to sell it for at least 9 or 10. I can't imagine anyone paying 10 for it.
elliottcarlose 05-10-2005, 06:30 PM good luck on getting that much I have sceen them go for 9000 before at a dealership but they tend to ask a little more because they can get people financed for a little more easier. I have the same problem (I don't want to sell but owe allot more than it is worth guess that is the way life goes.
hotfocus 05-10-2005, 07:28 PM I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think your Focus is worth no more than $7000. This also depends on the mileage and condition.

vanace 05-11-2005, 05:50 AM If your looking to do better in the same class of car (economy compact) then you won't find better than the focus. If your moving on to a different class of car, then go for it. don't be fooled to think you will get a civic that is better than a focus..(or a neon, cavi, corolla ect.)
DrkKnight614 05-11-2005, 10:46 AM wait prettyinpink, didnt u just get your focus recently, why u wanna get ride of it so soon, and what are u looking to get in its place? This is why im so glad i put a down payment of more then half the price of the car, so that im not upside down. I just checked the kbb values and i could expect to get 10,400 from a private party, and about 9 grand for a trade in. And considering i only have like 3 or 4 grand left to pay thats awsome. But the private party vaule, man if i could sell it for that, considering i only paid 10500 for my car new(thats not including tax etc), thats pretty good especially after putting 5000 miles on it.

You bought your car new for 10,500 and put more than half that on a down payment and still owe 3 or 4K on an 03? What do you pay? Like $50/month?
DrkKnight614 05-11-2005, 11:21 AM no i pay around 120 per month, and ive had it since july of last year, and im paid of till july of this year, so thats roughly 1500 give or take and i put a down payment of about 6 grand on it. So yes i owe around 4 grand on the car. Oh and ur forgeting that i said 10,500 without taxes and stuff, so it comes out to alittle over 11 grand in total.
PrettyinPink23 05-11-2005, 05:56 PM I've been looking at some Eclipses to get. I can't find any that I really really like though. I found one, but its 13 grand.
WinnipegZX3 05-11-2005, 06:33 PM If you do not have a lot of money to spare, do not get an eclipse/talon/laser. All DSM's are ridiculously unreliable and cost a crapload to fix. If you think you will have lots of spare money around once you get the car and can afford to fix it when it breaks, then go ahead because they are super fun to own and drive and make crazy power. You have been warned!
y2kpedo 05-11-2005, 08:12 PM its ok. but i dont think it will get aproved. or maybe im wrong
racer35 05-11-2005, 11:23 PM I had my for sale sign up and everything. I also had offers, but the car I want is a gas killing muscle car. With gas prices as they are now and I live and hour away from work I said maybe later.
