Hello Im new here
I was wondering if there are any little things i can do to my focus that could make it run better or give it a bit more power
has anyone successfully removed their catalytic converter w/o engine problems proceeding? has it made a performance difference?
Intake suggestions?
BTW I have a 2000 Wagon

you will be told over and over.... do a search.... & fast isnt cheap....or you get what you pay for...those are all very common around here...
as far as the catalytic converter yes you can remove it a get more power with an off road pipe or a race header...this will make your car kinda loud though... i would consider maybe an air intake system or a cat-back system first.
edit* im assuming it has a zetec motor...otherwise i know nothing about the other motors.
edit#2* oh and [welcome]

Welcome and as my friend has stated above, faster is never really that cheap. Try some basic bolt ons (exhaust, intake) and that should have you heading in the right direction.

Welcome....How handy are you with tools? The more you can do yourself, the cheaper it is!
You'll see a lot of "fanatics" in here with a lot of mods....most of them do their mods themselves.

As for cheap things to do, honestly there isn't alot, cheapest would probably be to put a K&N filter (cone filter) on the end of the MAF. Basically you remove the stock airbox and panel filter and put on the K&N. It's a common thing and only costs you the price of the filter. Make sure you do an ECU reset if you do this though (unplug the negative battery terminal for 15 minutes or so) so that the car can learn of the new filter.
There isn't alot of things you can do cheap to the car and in all honestly, it's not very good to 'cheap out' on performance, alot of things like that can harm the car.
Good Luck, do a SEARCH around the boards here and you'll find alot of useful information!
