Ok, I have a 02' SVT with 43,500 miles. Now i hit this really large pothole going about 40-45mph. So it bent my rim and the gas shut off automatically becuase it was a hard hit. So I turned the gas switch back on and now my check engine light is on. I have the extended warranty, so I brought it to ford for the check engine light. Now the performance mods I have is a diablo predator tune and a pipercorss viper intake. I left the intake on when I brought it to ford but I replaced the tune with my original since you can do that with the predator. That is why i bought it. So i bring it to Ford and they say your PCM has been modified this n that. i called tom, the place i got the tune from and he said there is no way of knowing. Ford said there is a problem wit the o2 sensor and it is being burnt out from the tune. They said this is the 3rd time I would have had the o2 replaced.

Now this car was used so the first time it was replaced i was unaware. this person has done no mods. I got it replaced myself 3 months after i ought the car and this was also before I flashed it. So it was still stock tune then. Now the main question is what do I do about this. Is it the tune burnin the o2 out or sumthing else? The guy at Ford said he wouldnt void my warranty just go back to the orginal dealer where I got the 2nd o2 sensor replaced and see wut they say. I jus need some help. I will speak to tom about this on monday.

Ok, I have a few questions to ask you first before I can figure anything out:

1. Did you use the programmer to identifly the code before you went to the dealership?

2. How long has it been since you installed the last o2 sensor.

3. Which 02 sensor is it (before or after the cat)?

4. Is all of your exhaust still stock?

If i`m understanding correctly you killed 2 of your 02`s before any tune was installed , Is that correct?

Ford has a full 1 year warranty on the 02 sensors so just change it your self and get another one

The 1st o2 sensor is realy close to the oil pan, it makes sense that with a serious jolt the sensor could be damaged easily. .. oh yea check tire rack for the rims I bought my car with a bent rim and they were the cheapest I found for a factory wheel

so did you ask the dealership how they knew that you had an aftermarket tune in there? i would think that since you flashed it back to stock, all parameters will be stock and there would leave no trace of anything changed besides the date that it was last flashed.

I have heard that the dealership can not check what the PCM has been changed to but it can tell how many times it has been changed!!

When i flashed it back to original the CEL went away, but when i went to pik up the car from the dealership it was back. So i reflashed it back to Tom's tune and now the light has been gone for 3 days so far. Yes, all my exhaust is stock. I think since the gas switch shut off, it might just be normal to get it checked, just for safety reasons and stuff. That why i think the light was on. But, everything is fine cept my bent rim which i should get later this week. Thanks for the help. If it comes back on ill post again. also I did the real tim diagnostics with the diablo predator and it said there were no error codes.
