does anybody know how to turn off the extremely annoying shift up light (if it can even be turned off) on a 2000 se. i really dont like my car telling me when to shift. [?]

i know it can be at least adjusted with a chip...maybe even turned off idk.

i have noticed that the times it tells me to shift up i need to shift down...and it also adjust to how im driving...but i agree with you its annoying as all hell

well it tells me like hey i want you to shift up at 3500, and im like i dont wanna shift there. like if im just cruzin thru downtown in say like 2nd it'll tell me to shift up till i get to like 1500 but if i get on it, it'll go off until i start approaching the red line....i dont know, im just tired of lookin at it

I like it on my first PZEV. Good for people saying, "Dude... you get a shift light?! That's tite!"

I don't hardly ever see mine. I shift before it comes on most of the time. And when it does, I don't notice it. How about just taking out the bulb?

I just don't pay any attention to it I even forgot I had one untill this post then I remembered

I have learned to ignore it. It has been in other cars I have had before... I see it once in a while but not often.

During the day it didn't bother me but at night it was distracting so I removed the bulb.

I find at WOT mine doesnt come on at all![:D] But it doesnt do much for mileage!! Actually I hardly notice it now!

I took the bulb out. Just take out your dash (a how to is in focus hacks) and just remove the bulb. I forgot I even had one till this thread came up. I did it a year agol.

I didn't even notice it until the dealer pointed it out, and he said if it's annoying put a piece of tape over that spot. But that would look stupid. Besides I have the Standard guage cluster without the tach, so it's in a corner and my hand and the stearing wheel blocks it most of the time. I barely notice it, and just ignore it anyway. At least it's just an arrow and not an indicator that says "SHIFT" I have seen that before.
