so i went to the dealer on saturday cause my airbag light came on during the week. i thought it would come off like it did the last time but it didnt. when i picked up my car at the dealer they told me that there was nothing wrong with the car and they didnt have the light turn on when they test drove it. my light came back on monday and i dont know if i should take it back to the dealer or not. i dont think they even checked it the first time i took it. what do you guys suggest i do this time if i take it to the dealer?

Keep bringing it back to the dealer and make sure each of these visits is logged. If they can't fix it within a reasonable amount of time start looking into the lemon laws in your state.

You really should take it back in. I believe the light indicates the airbags wont function if you get in a wreck. FocusonMe you should get yours fixed, too. Unless you dont really care to have the protection of your airbags if you wreck.
I dont think this would fall under the lemon law just yet. I believe you have to have a verified problem and have it fixed like 3 times in a certain period. So far, the dealer has said there is no problem. Good Luck.

Take it back to the dealer. It will get monatnous but keep doing it. The light usually comes on if there is something wrong with the system but the system always defaults to not functioning. The airbag light is usually two things. A loss of charge for the system or a bad crash sensor. If its the crash sensor, you are looking at about 250 bones if not under warranty.

thanks for the replys guys. i will be taking the car back to the dealer after the holidays so i know that they check it out. i havent had any accidents with the car since i purchased it.
jisturm, my car is still under warranty so that part wont be a problem.
i guess now i have to see if the problem gets fixed. if i take it a number of times to the dealer and they cant make the light turn off how can i go about looking at the lemon law just to see if this would be considered as such.

When you take it back, make sure they actually look at it, even if the light doesn't come on. If they won't, make a big fit about how if you get into a wreck and they don't deploy, they will be in deep shit especially after you have brought it in with airbag problems and they didn't even look at it.
You could even call Ford Customer care and talk to them.

you should deffenately get that checked out. i know first hand that the focus airbags work well in a wreck [thumb]

i think the dealer is messing with you. the computers usually have a memory of codes that have been there. the light should throw a code for the computer to store weather the light is on or off. I had the same light, and it turned out the connection for the passanger side, side airbag was bad. they rewired the connection, and all is good now

Def need to get that checked out. I agree with Vance sounds like to me a bad or faltering connection.

personally, id rather not have air bags... but for your protection, bring it back, make sure they lo9ok at it, and get it the hell fixed, the dealer needs to fix it.. and if they wont... sue em when you get into an accident.. haha
