Im tryen to put my ORP on. I have my car on ramps. Yet the two bolts that attach the cat tot he flex pipe wont come loose. They are stuck on there. I need some ideas as to how I can get these 2 suckers off. I have used a mini tourch on them to try and heat em up. Lube to loosen em and im usen a wrench with a long extension to get on the bolts but they just wont come off!!!

HELP

If they are really rusty you may have to bust them to get them off and get some new bolts. If you do that, get you a 1/2 drive ratchet and the correct size socket and torque the hell out of it

Yeah, I used a super long (24") extension, laid on my back (feet at the front) and just roared on the bolt. It SUCKS big time to do, but there is no other way.

Liquid wrench it a few times, let 'er soak, you'll get it...

The first time is the toughest...after that, its a 10 minute swap w/ a cig. break.

PB Blaster and breaker bar....

I sprayed mine with PB plaster each of the two days before I did the work. And I still had to use a breaker bar to get it off. They are a beeeooottch

^^^^you would have to get some new bolts and if you do be sure to get some GRADE 8 BOLTS, LOCK WASHERS, WASHERS, and NUTS becuase of the heat going throught there

^^^i agree of all my mods except for prolly my tune the orp has made imho the biggest difference..................a little softer on the bottom end but pulls a lot better on the top end

I blinked and was at 85 [:)] Normally I'm only at about 75 at the point that I looked, so was VERY happy [:D]

I had simadar trouble accept for me it was the drivers side cat to flex and to compound the trouble rounded corners on the bolt I had to buy a special tool from Craftsman a bolt extractor like an easy out foe bolts&nuts instead of screws. sprayed with PB Blaster repeditly let it soak and rekeated over &over but eventualy got it. don't breack the studs on the cat if you can help it You may need it later or want to sell it there are plenty of buyers.

-soak that thing with the penetrating oil pb blaster or Liquid Wrench
-let it soak a few minuites
-repeat first 2
-big wrench, I used a 1/2 drive craftsman with extensions putting me in front of the bumper on the header-cat nuts
-if you can get the extensions putting the wrench out in front of the bumper put a pipe on that rachet and it'll loosen or break
-if that doesen't work get a bigger pipe

the bolt is stripped right off. I was gunna go bring it in to the shop to get a torch on it but apparently they are busy. So i guess ill just go at it again. This is so annoying. I just wana put this facking thing on

QUESTION - if i just took of my cat(?), would that simulate the sound of having a offroadpipe...i really want to know what it sounds like but am hesitant because i dont want something too loud...Anyone in Michigan let me get a listen eh?

If you run basically straight out of the header, it'll be REALLY loud. I'll see if I can't get a recording of mine real quick...

FC ORP with stock exhaust (http://www.blackthornes.org/~daeron/orp_stock_exhaust.wav)

First rev is to 3500rpm, 2nd 5000, 3rd just over 7000. Don't mind the ding dong noise, that's my Trillian going off [:P]
