can anyone explain to me the vortech supercharger tuner kit? i saw it on the central florida motorsports website, it cost $2,172 and claims to give 177 horsepower and 160 torque.http://focus.c-f-m.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=277 .while the tuner kit with the aftercooler gives 18 more horses to make it 195 and 10 more lbs/ft of torque to 170 but for $3,760 http://focus.c-f-m.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=276 . and finally the the supercharger kit with aftercooler is $4,338 when claiming the same power gains as the tuner kit with the aftercooler (195hp and 170torque) http://focus.c-f-m.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=195 . wats the deal with the prices and power? the tuner kits say its for manual trannys, i swapped mine from auto to manny, is that a problem? the tuner kits say they require high flow injectors and custom tuning when the supercharger aftercooler kit doesnt. The supercharger tuner kit without the aftercooler seems like a steal for $2,100. is it?

The normal, more expensive supercharger kit includes tuning: you get everything you need to make it work (injectors and an ECU flash, I believe) when you buy it. With a tuner kit, you'll have to source tuning from a third party.

Like he said [duh] when you buy a tuner kit all you get is the supercharger, you have to get the chip, injectors, and tuning on your own which IMO is better because a mail order tune for a S/C is no good.

I would just do a custom tune. The tunes that they usualy provide are just a basic tune to get you started and there is much more room for tweaking.
Im waiting for pro charger to send me my new chip so I can drive it then I plan on replacig the chip for an SCT XCalibrator (http://www.focussport.com/sct_flasher.htm). Focus Sport includes 3 tunes to start you off then you can go from there.
P.S. I could just get the tunes/programs added to an SCT then use a switch but then you have to send the chip back where as the XCalibrator I can adjust any of the little things myself. I could do a Pro Racer package but thats way to advanced for me at this time.

Yea, the chip that comes with the kits is junk. Tuner kit is the way to go. That's what I would do.
