I finally purchased some eibach sportline springs for my ride and i'm just waiting for some time off between school and work to do the install. I've done suspension work many times before but never worked on a focus. there are usually little tricks people learn to make the job go easier, just wondering if any of you have done the job yourself and maybe picked up a secret or two to making the job go without a hitch. thanks for any replies. oh yea...i know there is a how-to section on this so please don't reply with that one lol

I just bought the Eibach sportline set also, so I'd also like some tips because I am a college student always looking for ways to save moolah.

if you have access to hoist much easier!!!!,,anyway when doing rear springs,remove the sway bar if equipped,torque of bolts to rear cradle is 35ftlb and the links to arm is 10ftlb..makes job much easier to pull arm down and remove spring... jess

also, if you are doing this you can borrow the proper tools for free (with deposit) from PepBoys or Autozone.
They have many specialty tools which are expensive & if you were to buy them youd only use them once on average..

Do you recommend doing the shocks on your own to save money? and then later checking the allignment, or installing the shocks at a shop

Shocks are an easy install. Took me like 20-30 minutes.
As for my tip on getting the front struts off the spindle. Kick it with downward force with your boot or suitable shoe that you don't mind abusing. Loosen but don't remove the top 3 strut bearing cap nuts.

after doing what foci_fosho says and you get strut back together and back in car install the top first just start the bolts not tighten,and put a little anti-seize on bottom of strut where it goes into knuckle and install in knuckle,torque knuckle to strut bolt to 66ftlb and the strut cap bolts to 18ftlbs....jess
