Hey guys, I was just wondering how long a standard new car warranty lasts? (I bought my focus new in 2004).

Also can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I can do to my car without voiding this warrenty, I've already installed an exhaust system and cold air is on its way....There has to be some other stuff I can do without voiding that warrenty....

Thanks heaps.

the dealership you bought the car from didn't tell you what kind of warranty it came with? also, do whatever to your car, but if a mod breaks something, it won't be covered.

All cars standard with 3 yrs / 100,000km warranty. I'm stunned you don't know that.

You technically can't change anything without risk. Anything you change, including an exhaust, is not covered by warranty and failure of a part can be attributed to your modification, the warranty for that part of the vehicle is void. They cannot void the whole warranty, only the parts affected by your mods.

it should be 3 yr/100,000 km warranty though the dealer should of told u and plus u should of asked the dealer as well when buying or picking up the car!!!

the ford dealer told us when buying and when we picked up the car about the warranty.... but since u done mods on it I not too sure if you would be covered under it... I guess you can try, but I'll ask my b/f's brother in law if you are since his a mechanic for Ford.
