I've read more horror stories about the SVTF tranny than any other topic on this forum...

I've heard about it, sounds like most are blaming the dual mass flywheel losening up and damaging the tranny.
I have about 3000 miles on mine now, and my only big complaint is that the clutch is inconsistent. Some times it engages immediately, and sometimes the clutch pedal moves pretty far before it engages. I've gotten in the habbit while sitting at the light to let the pedal out until the clutch starts to engage, just to see where it's deciding to engage at at that moment. I hate to look like a non-driver and over rev, when it's a long engage, or stall it when it's a short engage. I'm taking it in for sevice next month and will deffinitely bring this to the dealers attention.
