I remember reading on this site how some people bought the Gude kit and there engine blowing up and stuff like that. From what I remember is that the waste gate and the blow off valve that they give in the kit are pos. If you were to buy the kit and right away change out the two pos with a boost control would the kit be ok?

unfortunately I cannot answer about the substituting of crap parts.. but for the money and risk involved why not save the extra cash and get a decent turbo. I dont know much about them,. but word of mouth, GUDE is crap.

HaHa i just thawt that maybe the piping and turbo were good. Because man the piping looks sweet. I just thawt maybe switching to the greddy blow off and maybe a turbonetics would make the kit reliable ya know.

yes thats a good idea..kriston geesh, a friend of mine has a stage 2 gude and she has a blitz blowoff valve and a 1500 dollor turbo boost controller...im going with gude just cuz i dont want a huge turbo, just a fast spooling one with lots of torque and immediate boost.

I drove hers once(in a bribe) and i like it...given the fact that ive never ridden in a focus with ne other kinda turbo..hers looks really good. Im trying to talk her into selling it to me. and for 2200..i think thats the way to go.

oh and i might mention that the turbo did blow her first engine..but that was before she got the new blow off valve and boost controller(the guys didnt tune it right either).

Could u find out if its a for sure thing that if u replace th bogus parts ur engine will be ok. Cuz man ide hate to rebuild my engine cuz of it blowing ya know. Oh is her focus the svt to or no. Tell her to get online and fill us in on some probs or solutions to the kit.

dadgumit..i have her brothers number in my phone but my phone is broked(yea i know thats not proper) hers is a zetec...and she got the blitz because of how bad the blowoff valve that it came with was..she told me tom helped her out..maybe he knows the whole story..wait for an answer from him..in the mean while ill try to get in touch with eric(her bro) oh and another thing..shes been driving with that turbo on now for over 2 years..when i got in it i raced a bmw 330i and beat it...her daily driver..must speak for something.

Cool do u know if she used the same wastes gate or replaced that pos too.

For 2995.00 and 1050.00 you can get my STG1 SVT turbo kit that is made for the SVT and it has a stainless manifold and a lifetime warranty on all piping and manifold , I use a turbonetics external waste gate and new turbonetics turbo

gude has nothing for the SVT that will work , and what they do have for the Focus isnt hitting on much still

Tom if I got a turbo I would love to buy your stage 2. Your turbo just costs a grip though it’s the best by far. The tuning and everything but man that price is killer. I was even thinking of just buying your piping and intercooler kit and just putting together my own turbo kit with that potato turbo from hks (think its hks from what I remember). But then to do that I think everything greddy type s blow off turbonetics waist gate different injectors and everything else it would just be as expensive as buying your kit. I just wanted more horse power but still a little cheaper then 5 grand.

Whats really caused the motor to blow? Bad tune and just ran wrong, or boost walk, or creep whatever they call it?

Holycow this thread is old. The fact is Gude can work if you redo it yourself and get it tuned professionally. But the turbo, WG, BOV are junk. If you do get it i wouldnt expect to much and for too long.
