Anytime my car returns to idle, the lights flicker. I've heard of other people having this problem. But asides from the flash being the "cure", what exactly is causing it? I checked batt. voltage and it was sitting at 13.7 but hit the throttle and let it go and it goes down to 13.45 not that its a noticable difference but apparently something is "cracked out" in the charging system. Thanks for any help fellas

This has to deal strictly with the alternator, although a grounding kit will clean things up a little bit. We pretty much all have the problem, so that is good....(I guess). I've spoken with guys that have replaced the alt. w/ an aftermarket piece...and that has supposedly fixed the problem.

I've had my car in three or four times for this - the last time, my Ford dealer found a "charging system code". They replaced the alternator and it had absolutely no effect. I still get the battery light flickering occasionally when the car drops back to idle and sometimes when I'm sitting there just idling at a stoplight. The problem isn't really too annoying, but the fact that Ford seems to not have a fix for such a prevalent problem is... I guarantee that this will someday be a safety issue and then they will wish that they had moved their asses on this. By the way, I have also heard that the grounding kit helps, but I haven't tried it yet.
