Start with SCCA and look for local clubs that would host an autocross.
When you find one, go and check it out as a spectator, ask to get rides ( 99% of the time the club's officers will help you with this ), ask plenty of questions. Get there early and WALK THE COURSE, more than once.
Next race, bring the car, they're going to tech it so show them you mean business by removing EVERYTHING that isn't bolted down inside the car, even removing your floor mats. Make sure nothing is loose under the hood, bring a helmet if they don't have loaners.
First race, run your street tires. Unless you plan on getting into this full steam, you don't need different tires yet. If you don't want to burn your streets up but think you might do this a few more times, find some cheap rims ( in stock size ) and get some used tires, burn those up getting better as a driver. Go to r compounds when you're serious.
For now, just start learning about the car, about taking corners and finding the smoothest line. Improve your skill before spending the money on the car.
