is there a kit for the SVT??

Actually, that is why FMAX stopped selling it. ROUSH bought the rights.

However, ROUSH added their own tuning and injectors and other goodies. The FMAX Focus kit was not nearly as complete.

You put an unhappy smiley face. Is there something about the kit you did not like? I would love to hear some feedback...

I can say I drove the Roush turbo car when it was being passed around as a press vehicle and I like it.. The tune felt good and there were no real glitches, it could have hit harder, but I was only reading 8 lbs on the gauge in the car... No complaints though. It was nice.

Turbonetics bought FMAX as a whole company about 2 years ago. Not just the Focus kit. Therfore the new Turbonetics kit is the old FMAX kit. They are 1 and the same. However, this is a bit off topic. Good questions :)

1) The kit comes with an ECU Re-Flash by ROUSH designed specifically for this kit.

2) The injectors should be 42 lb. I will double check with ROUSH.

3) No MAF is mentioned in the parts list, I think it uses the stock one. I will again check with ROUSH

4) The tuning is the ECU Re-Flash as mentioned above

Were the dyno runs done on 91 octane?

There we on Pump gas, the kit was developed in CA so it would have to be 91. It sure wasn't race gas.

So this kit should bolt on an SVT as well? What about the different placement of the intake and the exhaust? Minor changes to make or? I have the SCT pro-racer package, so I can do the tuning, it's just getting it to fit that I am worried about mostly. Also since I would not need a flash or chip, would there be any price reduction?

So about the reflash, how does that work. Do you buy the kit, then send your PCM to roush to be flashed or hows that work?

I wanted to double check on this too, so I called ROUSH... The kit will not fit the SVT without changing and custom fitting a few of the parts. Mainly the Intake, Thorttle body placement and exhaust issues that you mentioned... So, unless you have the capability of doing a custom install I do not suggest this kit for the SVT.

Hey zx3focusguy,

I talked to ROUSH and got definite answers for you...

1) The RE-Flash is a full 3d mapping of the fuel, timing, spark etc... Made to work specifically with the turbo.

2) The injectors are 38lb

3) The kit retains the stock MAF

4) See #1 :)

Yes, the kit comes with a shipping carton all ready to go. Just drop your ECU in and ship it out. ROUSH will flash the ECU and send it back, No Charge!

Any chance you or Roush in the future is going to try to develop an SVT version of the kit? Even if it's just a "tuner version" without any tuning, just with the piping/mechanics worked out? I am guessing there is actually not a ton of work needed to make it fit, but I don't have a shop to fab up parts if needed either.

Not that I know of... I think they will see how this one sells first.

do you guys finance cause i realy want one but my current situation is stopping me from saving up the money, plus i am very impatient

There are 2 ways...

1) Contact Jason Provenzano @ American General (203-795-7048). He can try to get you a personal loan to purchase the kit.

2) I think paypal is now offering payment assistence...

how does the stock clutch hold up with that turbo??? any other mods needed to the fuel other than the ecu flash (anything need to be done to the fuel pump)??? any special price for the GUDE stage 1 turbo kit????

at near 200 whp you should get a clutch upgrade cause i think your buying time on it. depends on how you drive. me personally i dont really beat the dog hell outta my car. i do beat on it when i get bored but if your a "ricer" who wants to race every thing with a fart can and some stickers/decals dont be suprised when your clutch starts slipping.

I had a few other questions about longevity, etc.. I called ROUSH and they said they have had the kit on their project / development car for over a year without any issues :)

All you need is the ROUSH kit, ECU Flash and you are good to go.

The only thing that seems strange to me is a kit the makes close to 200hp is only running a 14.8?You can get that time with Heads,cams,and all the normal bolt ons

I saw one of the production kits at the meet at Lake Redman last weekend... It was really well laid out and looked good.

The guy at Redman that had one even had his dyno plot in the friont windshield.. Good numbers... They kit looked VERY professional....I never did run into the guy to talk to him about it.. I had to leave early.

It comes with one.. The piece in the mouth of the focus in the picture that has Roush painted on it !! That is the cooler that comes in the kit !

That's BEAUTIFUL. Hurry up and sell a bunch of em and then make one for the SVT!!!

Is it ONLY for ZX3/ZX5? The sedan has the same Zetec engine as the ZX3 will it fit or is it some how diferent?

Correct me if I am wrong, but as long as it has the same 2.0L engine. The front of the cars are all identical.

Yes, the fronts are all the same as far as mounting the turbo kit goes.... Aslong as you have a zetec you are in business... I can test fit one on my wagon just to be sure !!

I just checked with ROUSH and sorry, it is not CA Street Legal. It does allow you to keep the cat so it has potential to pass the sniffer. But no CARB Exept #.

Not CA street legal? They sell the Roush Focus at the Dealer down the street from me.

There is a roush focus that is not turbocharged. They also manufacture a turbo kit.
