I have a 2001 Focus SE with ABS brakes and only 26,000 miles on the ODO. Disk breaks up front and drums in the back. About 7,000 miles ago I replaced the front rotors with EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with Hawk pads. I have yet to change the rear drums at all. Recently I have noticed that while under breaking I feel a shutter in the steering wheel as well as the pedal. It almost feels like the ABS is kicking in but gently. I have come to the conclusion that I need new tires all around, could that be the problem. The other odd thing that I have noticed that I dont feel this weird pedal stuttering while breaking in reverse, granted I don't brake from high speeds in reverse. I am really stumped on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!!!

Sorry i know this is off topic on your thread but how did you like the ebc rotors i am looking to switch to them, any problems with them at all, or noises from them.

usually if its tires,it gets worse as you go faster not slow down,,id say check your lugnuts make sure their tight,90ftlb,check calipers make sure bolts didnt come loose,60ftlb and check for rotor warpage, some cheap rotors will warp quickly(not saying yours are cheap)cause their not made to be drilled and slotted,if its not this maybe check for ball joint or tie rod ends... hope this helps jess

Thanks for the suggestion. I am looking at new tires because I need them anyway. I took the wheels off and everything looks fine. just the way it looked when I did the install the first time. The rotors themselves dont seemed to be warped at all. I will keep you posted when I get the new tires and let you know if that remedied the problem.
