Should I consider getting some driving gloves for autocrossing, or does bare hands work just as well?
If gloves do help, could someone provide some suggestions on what kind to get, and where?

its all personnel preferance. the reason most racers were gloves is for fire protection and due to the extended length that they race. when u race for a while your hands tend to get swetay and u loose grip. i auot-x heavily and dont use them i feel liek i loose feel of the wheel.l its all up to you. if your hands tendy to get sweaty then u might wanna consider them

Really depends on your steering wheel surface. Gloves work well on vinyl and plastic surfaces which tend to be sticky. A good leather wheel, you shouldn't need them if its dry and clean. Mechanics gloves (the original ones with leather palms) work surprisingly well. Racerswholesale sells some nicely made driving glooves at affordable prices.
