Ok, so I have my turbo, manifold, injectors, boost gauge, intercooler, BOV. After I put this on my car what do I do next?
1. I know your to get your car tuned, but exactly what does tuning do? And how soon do I need it tuned?
2. And I don't know much about performance chips, is it easy to just order one like that?
3. And the MAF, getting that reflashed is it easy or not?
I mean what am I looking to do after I put my turo on, how long does it take, and how much does each cost? (reflashing MAFs, chipping, tuning) and
4. I have to have full synthetic oil correct? and 92octane gas?
Let me know if Im forgetting something, to me it just seems like if I forget something I can ruin everything. I learn from experience so for doing this for the first time and no experience or anyone to help me along the way Im scared I'll F something up. Thanks

1. tuning is one of the most important things to do if its not tuned, or not tuned properly you'll looking at a rebuild due to det, or the engine running lean. what does tuning do? - well it sets the ECU to run with the modifications ie bigger injectors, larger MAF, Throttle body position, air to fuel map (ie so much air so much fuel) most prefer to make the car run slightly rich at high revs as the risk of running lean can damage the engine.
2. Tom can answer that (in the UK we replace the management with OMEX)
3. i thought the MAF needed replacing as it wont detect high amounts of airflow....
4. Its best to - fully synthetic doesn't build up carbon deposits also lines the cylinders quicker then the cheap stuff. as for fuel it depends on the map, the higher the octane fuel used the less chance of det, so the map can be improved for higher figures, but if the car is mapped for 92 dont use any thing less as its likely to det.

dont know about you guys in the USA but we install an water injection system by aquamist to provent det from happening.

ok, i have just one question, who is this Tom that everyone is always mentioning??? I mean, apparently he's like the God of all things focus and forced induction! I have a lot of the same questions, cuz i'm looking at boostin my ZX3 this summer, and started assembling parts, but I need to know what to do, and what else I need....

Get yourself a wideband instead of that crappy light show gauge everyone gets. I got mine from AEM (www.aempower.com) its a wideband 02, and gauge. Being able to keep close tabs on a/f mixture is critical. Wont hurt to do fuel pressure, boost gauge, etc. You need to be able to monitor whats happening...the more you know, the more you can prevent BOOM!!

secondechomatt, Tom runs www.focus-power.com most people use his kits plus you can ask him questions and he can advise you unlike a companies that just sell kits from other companies, Tom knows the ins and outs of his kit and the Focus engines.
