Wow this is wierd....I have the goldline springs on my car right now. I went to install the H&R race springs when i got finished the front springs are rotating along with the upper seat of the sping. It is coming out of position and poping bad when i turn. I have many therories, but was hoping someone could he;p me out. I reinstalled my goldline springs in the front and boom the same thing! Now i figure that this has to be my fault with the installation, but i have done this many times... on many different cars and this has never happened. i am stumped can anyone help me out?

yeah, not the spring's fault. you say the spring is rotating in the perches? r u sure you have the ends of the spring (top AND bottom) lined up in their little notches? both the strut and the top plate have little notches where the ends of the springs fit. also, make sure you have the strut compressed when you install the top plate. you need as many threads on the strut as possible to engage the top nut so that the spring provides adequate pressure once you take of the spring compressor. it's this tension that should prevent the rotating.
also, wat kind of struts r u using with that setup? should be something pretty beefy, preferrably adj. like Koni, GAZ, or SPAX.

yea i lined it up right in the slots and i have taken them off and back on 4 times... yea i can change a spring on my xz3 in 11 mins. i timed it haha. i agree with you about the tension. when the car goes down on the spring that should be enough though. or atleast i would think. ..

compress the spring enough so that you bottom out the top nut on the strut. if it still spins......... dunno. also, what kind of struts r u running?

I still have the stock but my kyb agx are coming... i just need to save a little more money... I am not using the stock bushings inbetween the spring and the seat, so i just went and ordered new ones. Hopefully this will help what doyu you think? [?|]
( the stock's are still good though i checked them out when i took them off. the qyestion is are the strong enough... i dont know that that would matter though right?)

frush is right. H&R race springs are some heavy-duty stuff. stock dampers just ain't up to it. and what bushings are u talking about? the spring should just sit in the perch metal to metal.

well i would say that the problem is not the fact that my sturts are too soft being that now even the goldlines do it. Besides they will be here within the month not really worried about killing the strut.
I called ford and they said there is a bushing, a little foam/rubber piece that is to go inbetween the spring and the pearch. i thought that i remembered having them on my car! now im confused.
I just need to make my car driveable ya know?
by the way i really appreciate the hep that you are giving me

the bushing that they're talking about is the stick-on rubber piece that went on the stock springs. Yeah, it sorta prevents chatter of the spring against the strut, but you don't necessarily need it. i took 'em off long time ago with no problems since. it's definetely not what's causing your problem.

yea me too. dammit i was hoping for an easy way out...

DO you have the little sleeve thing that goes arounf the spring, where it touches the Strut?
