: FS exhaust

Well I finally ordered the FS stealth exhaust and now I am waiting for it to be delievered either between Wednesday and Friday of this week. I can't what untill I have a good weekend of decent weather(living in Michigan kindof sucks this time of the year) so I can install my new exhaust. I hope it goes a little smoother than when I installed my intake and t/b. What problems of difficulties are there when installing the exhaust?
Hopfully over the summer I will have enough money saved to get some headers for the car. Then I'll need to make my mind up on which way I should go shorty headers w/ orp or go with the race headers. Decisions decisions.[;)]

The hardest part of ANY exhaust install is removing the old system. After that it's CAKE!!! The FS system was rate the best of all the aftermarket systems out there for ease of installation and quality.
Use a pair of gloves. There are shards or steel that'll cut you wide open and you won't feel it at all. You will, however, SEE it. ICK!!
I wasnt pics![}:)]

It sucks I ordered the damn thing a month ago and I have still not recieved the damn exhaust. At first, they said that they didi not have any in stock at the time and that they needed to have some made, I was like thats fine with me b/c being that it is for the spi motor and that seeing the demand for the spi exhaust isn't as high as for the zetec. I have contacted them last firday and they said that they sould be recieving it later that day and they would try to ship it out asap. I guess it's just me, cause I wouldn't have thought that it would have taken over a month to get my exhaust. I'm starting to get a little excited more each day cause the weather is started to get better and I just want to install my exhaust when it finally gets here.

That's not like FS. Did you order it outside of FocusSport?
03-25-2005, 12:00 PM
I ordered directly off of their site. I checked my e-mail and I just got a notice from UPS stating that my package should be arriving on 3-28-05, so hopefully by this monday I'll have my exhaust. Maybe by next weekend, weather permitting, I'll have it installed. The thing that I like about this is that both time that I had e-mailed FS they got into contact with me the next day.

Well if this is that highly rated could you help us other SPI folks out with some pictures, tips & thoughts maybe?
It would be cool to start getting more SPI specific writeups made[thumb]

I just installed my FS stealth exhaust 2 weeks ago.. and the install was pretty easy. Just make sure resonator is seated properly in the rubber hangers.. I messed up and had it upside down. and the entire system sat funny in all of the rubber hangers.. but as soon as i turned the resonator the correct way, everything fit perfectly under the car. And it sounds great. I just made a 600mile trip in the car and the exhaust didnt annoy me once.. Its great.

Nice to here from some one else that had installed the fs stealth exhaust. At least it was an easy fix for ya, it kind of goes on one way or at least in a way that you'll now that it is on wrong. Hopfully when I go to install I'll try to get some pic up o the install for you guys.

I'm considering that or a magnaflow kit this summer.

I guess what may help in making your decision is what short of header, if you plan on puting headers on, you wont to get. If you plan on going with a race header you'd be better off going with the FS stealth exhaust over the magnaflow, unless having a louder exhaust doesn't bother you. I went with the FS stealth exhaust because I plan on in the future going with a race header.

ill pry never geta race header... i make 9.90 an hour and i dont really plan on super moding the focus. just small improvements. When Magnums come down in a few years ill have a hemi magnum.

Yeah I understand you I only make 9.02 an hour and I go to college, so i'm limited to moding one thing a year. hopfully in a couple more semesters along with the clinicals I'll have my degree and able to get a job in the hospital making a bit more money now.

Well I just got the exhaust on monday and opened it up and damn does it look purrty. The instructions that they give is very straight forword hopefully I'll get some good weather this weekend ( chance of rain ) if not I'll go and try to get it installed next weekend. I'll try to keep you guys posted on the progress.

hay there guys I just got a chance to peak under the car to see what the stock exhaust looks like and I was inparticulary looking at the hangers on the exhaust and was wondering how I would remove them or losen them up so I can remove the stock exhaust? Thanks for the help.

It is pretty simple all you have to do is spray them with some lube of some sort and they should come out ,might take a little elbow grease . If the pin dosn't come out of the rubber collar, try to turn the ruber collar 90 degres and it will come out with the pin intact.

Thanks for the info, and I'm sorry if I come off souding dumb, but I didn't wont to get under the car not nowing exactly how to get the hanger off and ending up bracking something and having to fix that.

Do how did the install go if you have done it yet?
04-11-2005, 07:39 PM
The install, for my car was a pain in the ass. I had a problem with bolts on flex pipe flange were rusted so bad that I ended up spending most off my time trying to get them off( spent part of two weekends working on them). Once I had them off the install was for the most part was smooth and easy other than having trouble with a placement of a hanger. With the stock system off the FS exhaust install was really simple and the fitment is amazing.
I have had it on now for four days. When I start the car it now has a very nice rumble to it. When driving at normal, the exhaust is quite, but when you step on it it has a nice low rumble, not loud, but not quite.

Good to hear you like and I now which bolts your talking about :p lol those things suck mine were rusted also
04-12-2005, 05:46 PM
Good, I'm gald that I wasn't the only one that had to suffer through some rusted pain in the ass bolts.
